SR 32/Eight Mile Road Intersection Improvements

Improvements have been planned for t­­he SR 32 and Eight Mile Road intersection in Anderson Township to address congestion and the high number of crashes that occur at and around the intersection. Improvements include:
  • Adding a traffic signal to manage traffic flow and control left-hand turns from westbound SR 32 to Eight Mile Road
  • Adding a dedicated through-lane on SR 32 that will allow westbound traffic to flow continuously through the SR 32 and Eight Mile Road intersection, bypassing the signal
  • Grade improvements
  • Repair of a landslide on SR 32, east of the intersection

The project's Feasibility Study, now posted on the Red Bank to I-275/SR 32 Project Documents page, documents the alternatives evaluated and identifies the preferred alternative.

This project will be released for bid this July, and construction is set to begin early in the fall. It's expected that the project will take a year to complete. Additional information about the project can be found on the Red Bank to I-275/SR 32 Status page of the Eastern Corridor website.

Bicycle & Pedestrian Improvements in the Beechmont Levee Area

ODOT has coordinated with Anderson Township and the City of Cincinnati to make it easier and safer for bicyclists and pedestrians to travel between the regional shared-use trail system and neighborhoods on the east side of the Beechmont Levee (Beechmont Avenue/SR 125). 

The project's Feasibility Study documents the alternatives evaluated, engineering and environmental studies completed, public input received and recommended next steps. Responses to questions and comments received are included in Attachment F, Virtual Public Open House Summary Report, Appendix B.

The project will be completed in the following phases:

Phase 1 (Construction to begin in Spring 2023)
Construct bicycle and pedestrian improvements on Elstun Road, from Beechmont Avenue/SR 125 to Spindlehill Drive

Phase 2 (Construction to begin in Spring 2024)
Connect Elstun Road and Spindlehill Drive to the Little Miami Scenic Trail

Future Phase
Funding for proposed improvements from Elstun Road to Ranchvale Drive has not yet been identified.

AN EASTERN CORRIDOR INITIATIVE
The improvements being planned at SR 32 and Eight Mile Road and near the Beechmont Levee are Eastern Corridor projects. The Eastern Corridor Program is a series of integrated transportation projects designed to make travel easier and safer between Greater Cincinnati's urban core and the communities in eastern Hamilton County and western Clermont County. Eastern Corridor projects are also designed to support local goals for community enhancement, economic development, and sustainable regional growth.
