SURVEY: UTA INVITES FEEDBACK ON 5-YEAR SERVICE PLAN

Utah Transit Authority (UTA) is beginning a Five-Year Service Plan. This plan will outline a vision for UTA’s future service. They have invited community feedback via a survey.

At present, Riverton has 0 bus stops from UTA. We have 0 rail stations. The only service offered by UTA in our community is the microtransit service Via, which gets very limited ridership. Yet, UTA collects over $6 million from Riverton in sales tax revenue generated in our community each year.

We encourage all Riverton residents to take time to complete the survey to provide feedback about how UTA could serve our community better.

REASONS TO CLEAN UP FALLEN LEAVES

Fallen leaves are often trapped by roadway curbs and end up blocking gutters flow and storm drains, increasing the likelihood of flooding. Excessive amounts of leaves also end up draining into canals, creeks and the Jordan River, often resulting in smelly water and depleting the oxygen level in the water, making it harmful to fish. Help us prevent flooding and to keep our creeks and rivers clean by removing leaves from your property, sidewalk and gutters by regularly mulching or bagging.

City & Community Announcements

911 Calls

If you ever need to call 911, please stay on the line if you don't get an answer right away. The Salt Lake Valley Emergency Communications Center (VECC) occasionally has many calls come in at once and it takes a little time before all can be answered. If you hang up, your call will go to the back of the phone queue, which may delay emergency response.

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline

A brand-new nationwide resource is available for individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts or other mental health crisis. Similar to dialing 911 for emergency response, dialing 988 will connect callers 24/7 to trained crisis counselors who can provide support and resources to those in distress. Please note the number and don’t hesitate to call, or text, should you ever experience a mental health crisis.

Glass Recycling

Riverton City's glass recycling bin is located just off 13400 S on 4050 W, east of both the Maverik and South Hills Middle School and west of Holiday Oil Chevron. Click here for a map or recycling details. Residents are encouraged to use the bin to recycle glass items.
