National Day for Truth & Reconciliation - Municipal Services
The Middlesex Centre office and the Komoka Wellness Centre will be closed Friday, September 30, 2022, in observance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Waste and recycling will be collected on your regular collection day.

Voting in the Municipal Election |
The 2022 Municipal Election, to vote for municipal council and the school boards, takes place October 24.
In Middlesex Centre, the voting period runs from October 17 at 9am to October 24 at 8pm. You may vote by internet and telephone.
Your voter identification card should arrive in the mail by October 14. You will need this card to cast your ballot.
If you do not receive your card, if your card has errors, or if you need assistance voting, contact the Middlesex Centre Voter Help Centre.

Committee and Board Recruitment
Middlesex Centre is accepting applications for various Committees and Boards of Council for the 2022-2026 term. Committees include community services advisory, youth advisory, medical centre boards, and community school alliance, among others.

Budget 2023 - Survey Results |
Thank-you to those that completed the 2023 budget survey this summer.
Staff presented the survey results to Council at their meeting on Sept 7, 2022. Of note, 91% of respondents thought the municipal services they received were either fair, good, or excellent. You can view the results on the website.
The results of the survey will be incorporated into the 2023 Middlesex Centre budget.

New Youth Basketball and Indoor Soccer Programs
Two new sports programs start this October: Basketball for youth in grades 6 to 12 in Komoka on Saturdays AND Indoor Soccer for youth ages 5 to 13 in Delaware on Thursday evenings. Visit the website for full details and to register.

Practice your Home Escape Plan - Fire Prevention Week 2022 |
During Fire Prevention Week, October 9 to 15, Middlesex Centre Fire Services asks you to take a few minutes to practice your home fire escape plan.
- Working smoke alarms are your first line of defence. Test your alarms monthly.
- Design a plan that works for your home and all your family members.
- Know two ways out of every room, if possible. Make sure all doors and windows open easily.
- Have an outside meeting place a safe distance from your home where everyone should meet if you need to escape quickly.

Dealing with Fall Yard Waste |
Starting your fall outdoor clean up and wondering what to do with your yard waste?
Middlesex Centre accepts residential yard waste free-of-charge at our EnviroDepots.
Depots are located at 23053 Denfield Rd. and 10191 Longwoods Rd. They operate Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, until November 12.
Plant materials, brush, grass clippings, leaves and pumpkins can be brought to the depots. Items must be less than 1 m in length and less than 10 cm in diameter and must be loose or in paper bags – no plastic bags are accepted.

Generous donation from Komoka-Kilworth Optimists
The municipality's plans for a new accessible playground at Komoka Park just got BIGGER with a generous donation from the Optimist Club of Komoka-Kilworth. The Optimists announced the donation at their 50th Anniversary celebration in September.

New Dog Waste Containers in Middlesex Centre Parks
Out for a walk with your four-legged friend? If you are strolling through Deerhaven, Douglas B. Weldon, Komoka or Westbrook parks you can drop your dog's waste in one of our new in-ground waste containers. This program may be expanded if successful.
