WEST CHESTER HIRES NEW ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
West Chester Township recently welcomed Michelle Cone to the team as Economic Development Manager. With her experience and deep passion for local government, Michelle is excited to join the team that has earned West Chester the ranking as the "best place to live in America."
Michelle brings a strong background in economic development, community engagement and public relations. She has worked in various roles where she successfully facilitated growth strategies and supported local businesses. She has a degree in Business Administration from New Mexico State University, and her previous work includes collaborating with both private and public sectors to promote economic vitality.
In her new role, Michelle will be responsible for fostering relationships with businesses and promoting West Chester’s pro-business environment. She’ll be working closely with business owners, real estate brokers, governmental agencies, and other stakeholders to attract and retain businesses.
Originally from Santa Fe, New Mexico, Michelle has a deep passion for community-building. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, walking her dog, Maisie, and volunteering at local arts organizations.
"I’m excited to be part of such a vibrant community. West Chester is a fantastic place for business, and I’m looking forward to contributing to its growth and helping local companies thrive,” Michelle said.

UC Health Named on Forbes List of America’s Best-In-State Employers 2024
UC Health has made the Forbes list of America’s Best-In-State Employers 2024. Forbes and Statista Inc., the leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider.
The recognition distinguishes UC Health among organizations from across the state and nation as a recommended place to work.

As Greater Cincinnati’s only academic health system, UC Health employs more than 10,500 and serves patients from across the United States in more than two million visits annually. In partnership with the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, UC Health combines clinical expertise and compassion with research and teaching to provides patients with treatment options for even the most complex situations.
The health system includes four inpatient campuses and 70+ outpatient offices and nationally recognized specialty care centers, including the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center and the UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute.

Tuesday’s announcement is not the first time the health system has been publicly recognized as a top employer. In 2023, the health system was named as one of Ohio’s Best Workplaces by Ohio Business Magazine and has consistently been recognized by U.S. News & World Report and Newsweek for specialized care.
America's Best-In-State Employers 2024 have been identified in an independent survey from a vast sample of more than 160,000 employees working for companies employing at least 500 people within the U.S. The ranking is open to companies from all industry sectors. Around 4.4 million employer evaluations were considered. The consideration of data from 3 years allowed a robust differentiation between organizations that consistently perform well from those that may only have had a single good year. An employer's final score is determined on a state-by-state basis and is built upon two types of employee evaluations: Personal Evaluations: Employees’ willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family, and Public Evaluations: Recommendations from friends and family members of employees, or members of the public who work in the same industry- also known as indirect evaluations.
Statista publishes hundreds of worldwide industry rankings and company listings with high-profile media partners. This research and analysis service is based on the success of statista.com, the leading data and business intelligence portal that provides statistics, relevant business data, and various market and consumer studies and surveys.

LITHKO CONTRACTING TO EXPAND WEST CHESTER CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS
Lithko Contracting, a leading national concrete contractor, announced plans to expand and grow its existing West Chester headquarters at 2958 Crescentville Road facility.
Lithko is a full-service concrete contractor providing pre-construction and project execution services for projects across various sectors, including airports, distribution centers, entertainment, healthcare, hospitality and industrial.
Lithko expects to create 50 new full-time equivalent positions, generating more than $4.5 million in new annual payroll because of the company's expansion project.
The proposed project also includes a physical expansion of the company's current West Chester corporate headquarters to accommodate the recent growth and expansion of its workforce. The Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a 1.577 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project.
Lithko specializes in the execution of walls, tilt-ups, structural frames, slabs, super flats, site work, foundations, and pre-construction services. Lithko has more than 6,000 employees worldwide serving more than 550 clients across 20 geographic regions. Lithko has a unique local service model designed to keep coworkers close to home and create exceptional customer service in each town.
Established in 1994, the company is one of the country’s largest concrete contractors, earning the #2 ranking on Engineering News-Record (ENR’s) Top Contractor list for the past four years.

Happy New Year West Chester! The start of each new year is an opportunity to reflect on the previous year and set goals for the year that lies ahead.
It was a busy 2024 for our office. Community Development processed 1,004 permit applications in the first full year for online permitting. Customers can now submit applications at their convenience. Applications can be submitted from your home in your pajama pants while eating the leftover fruitcake and cheese. That’s a win.
Online permit applications were such a success, that Community Development launched another new online program on January 1, 2025. You can now submit property maintenance complaints online, at any time, for our Property Advisors to investigate. The new portal can be found on our website:
