Lent is a time to open the doors of our hearts a little wider and understand our Lord a little deeper. Lent is 40 days (not counting Sunday’s) from Ash Wednesday to Holy Saturday. These 40 days represent the time Jesus spent in the wilderness, enduring temptations of Satan and preparing to begin His ministry. The Lenten season is a preparation for commemorating the death and resurrection of Jesus at Easter. It is a time for self-examination and reflection, repentance, fasting and an intentional season of focus on Christ’s life, ministry, sacrifice, and resurrection.
