UUCUC COVID SAFETY GUIDELINES UPDATE
|
|
End to UUCUC’s Mandatory Masks starting this Sunday, February 12, 2023
Under the direction of UUCUC Staff Leadership Team in full cooperation and support by the UUCUC Covid Advisory Team the UUCUC Covid Guidelines have been updated using guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, the Illinois Department of Public Health, and the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District.
Starting this Sunday, February 12, 2023 masks are welcomed but no longer required in the building, during worship services, or during REE activities. If the community risk level moves to high, activities involving eating or drinking will be temporarily suspended.
The color-coated lanyard system at UUCUC will continue indefinitely. We will use eNews and signs on the doors of the building to communicate the current community risk level.
Masks will continue to be required during choir practices.

DREAMM is our shared offering organization for February 2023
DREAAM is our shared offering organization for February.
DREAAM is a locally based organization located in several sites in Champaign County whose mission is to embrace and engage with boys as early as the age of 3 with the commitment to remain in their lives until they are 24. DREAAM’s programs reach out to impact children and young adults who need DREAAM the most. Some of them face tough odds, needing to overcome challenges such as school suspension, anger issues, parental incarceration, and low academic skills. However, where others see problems, DREAAM sees potential.
DREAAM also reaches out to families, community organizations, churches, schools, and service providers to produce caring, outcome-driven services for children and young adults. They believe in starting early building resiliency, a love for learning, and positive friendship skills.
Volunteers and staff teach essential life skills throughout the curriculum―collaboration, contribution, self-regulation, adaptability, attachment, and belonging―to prepare DREAAMers for college and career success. Effective parenting and caregiver skills and empowerment support are also taught.
The overall goal is to empower DREAAMERS to Dream Big! Ultimately, the mission of DREAAM is to create transformative experiences, trauma-informed spaces, and strength-based programs that benefit children and young adults for years to come as seeds of hope are planted for the future of communities.
