SERVE EDUCATE EMPOWER
Dear Friend,

It is a tremendous honor for me to become Carver Center's new Board President.

Serve, educate, empower. Those three words have a very deep meaning for me. Growing up in the Bronx, money was always tight. What little we had was used for the most basic necessities and there was never any extra for extracurricular activities.

What drew me to Carver was all of the impressive ways they were helping out the community and bringing them together. After school programs, the teen center, summer camp, the Carver Market – growing up, it would’ve been great to have access to a community center like this.

The more I learned about Carver, the more I wanted to help and be a part of this important organization that provides so much to families.

I feel privileged to be working with my fellow board members and the passionate team at Carver, including CEO, Anne Bradner. We can all make a difference in the lives of our neighbors. Want to volunteer? Please reach out to our welcome desk at 914-305-6009 for current opportunities. You can also help by donating today to our year-end appeal.

Thank you for your consideration. I can't wait to see what we can achieve together.

Gratefully yours,
Yvette M. Hammel, Board President
