Dear Residents –

In honor of Veterans Day, 2022:

'OUR VETERANS

In Tribute 2022

We share gestures and words that lovingly hold to grace

And within our BEING it is gratitude and praise we place

All in reflection of sacrifice and noble deed

The cry of Freedom, ever our living creed

The gifts of LIFE with vision blessed and bold

This the giving within each Veteran's story told

Loyalty, dedication, ascending care be they known

This in valor by our sons and daughters shown

To hold resolve and endure all claim

To fire the passion beyond the pain

Courage to hold to freedom's call and light

In perseverance the challenge be it day or night

Fortitude, strength, imbued with heart's noble call

Sacrifices of body, limb, in this a growing toll

And when returned to home's welcomed shore and land

Let us in caring response put support in command

Life with God's blessings shall ever prevail

'Tis the vision of freedom and valor within souls we hail

The dream yet dreamed shall unfold

And PEACE to be the story told

We in tribute give honor this Veterans Day

The gift of valor to mark, to mark the rising way.

Supervisor Kenny attended the Nyack Center’s Legacy Gala on Saturday, November 5, 2022. She was on hand to celebrate and congratulate her good friends Kenyatta Jones-Arietta and Rudy Arietta, and the Rotary Club of Nyack, who were honored this year. The Arietta’s are believers in community service and prove it every day.

2022 Rockland County Veteran of the Year:

Alan Dagistino

Supervisor Kenny started her Veterans Day events early, attending the Raymond W. DeMeola VFW Post # 1615 ceremony on Sunday at 10 am, followed up with the Veteran of the Year Ceremony at the Rockland County Courthouse, where she watched Alan W. Dagistino accepted the Veteran of the Year Award. On Monday, she was a sponsor for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9215, Commander’s Cup golf outing at O’Grady’s Castle at the Blue Hill Golf Course and joined them for lunch.

Heaven Can Wait Rescue Bartender Challenge Benefit Event!

Supervisor Kenny and her side-kick Tim Hodges had fun guest bartending to help raise funds for Heaven Can Wait, a foster based rescue in Rockland County. Although they came up a little short on tips to beat out Supervisor Hoehmann and Assemblyman (now Congressman-Elect) Mike Lawler, they had a lot of fun and raised much needed funds for this nonprofit organization. And Supervisor Kenny will be back guest bartending at the Growler & Gill on November 20th at the kickoff event for the 2023 Penguin Plunge Children.
