CFM Photo Contest
July 1st through September 30th

Since its inception in 1935, the Conservation Federation of Missouri has been proud to showcase our state’s rich outdoor heritage and its diverse wildlife, plants, and habitats. This is our second year for the photo contest to share our member’s artistic observations. There are four categories for photographs with instructions and guidelines for submissions. Honors will be given for first place in each category and first, second, and third place overall. Many submissions will appear on our web and print media. Photos will be judged on creativity, impact, content, and visual quality. We hope you will join us and enjoy photography of our great Missouri outdoors.
Pull for Conservation: Central

CFM would like to invite you to join us for the Central Pull for Conservation clay shoot on August 13th. This 16th annual event will take place again at Prairie Grove Shotgun Sports near Columbia. This workshop will give landowners a better understanding of forest and wildlife management. It will include a driving tour of management completed on the Haag property.
 
Topics include:
  • Ruffed Grouse Management/Restoration update
  • Forest and Wildlife Mgmt Practices including timber management for harvesting and wildlife management for deer/turkey/ and non-game species
  • Consulting Foresters/TSI/Timber Harvesting
  • Cost Share Practices and Availability/Landowner Experiences

A noon lunch will be provided

Della Mae Jones - A Savior of the Hills

This is a collection of short stories about a Shannon County, Missouri hill woman and the many lives she touched during the Great Depression and the wars that followed as seen through the eyes of her young grandson, Jerry, who loved her dearly.

About the author: Jerry Presley was born in December 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri. At the age of six months, he went to live with his grandmother, Della Jones, on the family farm near Low Wassie, Missouri. It was there that Jerry learned about nature, hard work, family, and friendships.
