A Letter From The President

Dear Supporters and Friends of The Landing School,

We just completed our 43rd graduation and are already busy planning for next year. To support those efforts, earlier this year we reached out to our key benefactors and friends in the Marine Trades to see if we they would support a Matching Fund Challenge. I am excited to announce that through the generosity of a benefactor, who asks to remain anonymous, and a group of companies in the Marine Trade Industry we have the opportunity to receive a matching gift of $65,000 if we can raise a matching amount of donations by the July 15th deadline.

As I am sure you all have experienced, the cost of doing business, or in our case running a school, is rising on all fronts. Despite these financial challenges, we have been able to keep students on site for hands-on learning throughout the pandemic and have not raised tuition in the past four years, to lessen the financial burden for current and potential students.

If we can attain this matching gift challenge it will be a game changer for The Landing School’s finances, to maintain the excellent education and learning experiences our student and the marine industry have come to expect from us. Your financial support is more important than ever so that we can receive this generous pledge challenge.

You will be receiving more information in the mail and/or by e-mail during the coming week about our Spring matching Gift campaign, however, there is no time better than right now to make your donation. Please click here to make your donation.

Thank you, in advance, for your support of The Landing School and our efforts to secure and grow what is a unique and important institution for the Marine Industry and beyond.

Sincerely,

Sean Fawcett

Marine Systems

On May 18th the Marine Systems students and instructors took a portion of the project boats out for sea trials.

"Taking our project boat out on the water with my teachers and friends felt incredibly rewarding. I was able to see our work come to life in a very real way after working on the Tripp 22' for a year."

- Tony Garcia, MS 2022

Yacht Design

For the final project in Yacht Design, students are tasked with designing a boat of their choice between 30 to 60 feet. Students projects consisted of monohulls, multihulls, sailboats, powerboats, and fishing boats. The project seen in the photo below is a 50ft. ocean cruising sailboat designed by Shane Davis.
