Dear First Family,
This Sunday, March 23, is a very special day in American history. This Sunday, 250 years ago, a speech was given by Patrick Henry that continues to capture the hearts of Americans today. As the American Revolution approached, Henry became one of Virginia's leading advocates for independence. He helped create the First Continental Congress, and in 1774 won election to that body representing Virginia. On March 23, 1775, Henry made what would become his most famous speech before a gathering of Virginia legislators at St. John's Episcopal Church in Richmond, Virginia. There he urged his fellow Virginians to arm themselves and reportedly underscored his remarks with a statement that has resonated in every generation since then. In that speech, Patrick Henry said, "I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death." Without the untold number of brave women and men who stood with Patrick Henry in the fight for independence, this country would never have been born. I encourage all of us to take a moment and reflect on the history of this great nation and then ask ourselves, “Do I have the courage to stand up for my faith so that generations after me may know the saving power of Jesus Christ?” There is no telling who in future generations will be influenced by our decision to stand up and live for Jesus. Hope to see you Sunday.
Bless you,
Dr. Dean Posey

Church Family,
With deep appreciation for his many years of faithful service, we share that Pastor Gabe has announced his resignation from First Methodist Waco. Since joining our church family in 2006, Gabe has been a dedicated pastor and mentor, touching countless lives for Christ through his leadership and care. Throughout his time at First Methodist, Gabe has faithfully served in many capacities, including ministry to local law enforcement, offering spiritual support and encouragement to those who serve and protect our community. His passion for sharing the love of Christ and walking alongside others in their faith journey has left a lasting impact on our congregation and beyond.
We are incredibly grateful for the years of ministry Gabe has poured into our church family and community. Please join us in praying for him as he steps into this next chapter, trusting that God will continue to use his gifts in powerful ways.
In Christ,
Dr. Dean Posey
