WONDERLAND

This year our annual fundraiser dinner was pure madness! Graciously hosted at Win River Event Center, this magical evening was full of surprises. From beautiful decor, custom cookies, elaborate raffle and silent auction, spunky volunteers, face painting, costume contest, touching testimonies, and even a surprise performance by Francis Court Kids, this was a night to remember. This joyful night brought in over $19,000 in proceeds, a generous contribution to our mission of rebuilding lives!

Having our community's support means the world to us........

It is a Season of Training

at

Learning and growing is always in season however recently we have gone full throttle on training. In addition to the specialized evidence-based trainings listed below, we have also been CPR Trained, and trained to administer Narcan.

TOUCHPOINTS

With funding from The ACES Resiliency Grant, Youth Advocate Kathy Garcia is in the middle of completing the intensive 28-hour training program that introduces the Touchpoints Approach, which is an evidence-based approach to building strong family-child relationships from before birth through age 5. Touchpoints provides a practical, preventive approach that supports professionals in forming strengths-based partnerships with families.

MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING

Four staff members are attending SCOE's year long intensive workshop teaching practical, evidence-based skills and insight to help clients walk toward positive behavior. They are leaning about the stages of change, MI principals and appropriate strategies for engagement.

NURTURING FATHERS

Case Manager Dan attended First 5 Shasta's training and learned about the philosophy of nurturing fathers. He can now implement and facilitate the Nurturing Fathers program, as well as the Marriage & Parenting Program (an offshoot of the NP curriculum designed for couples, co-parents and anyone single wanting to process past relationships with the goal of doing it better next time)!

Three of our families secured permanent housing!!!

WE ARE SO PROUD OF EACH OF YOU!

PRAISE GOD

Congratulations to House of Cornelius Veterans Billy and Steve for completing the I Can Only Imagine Curriculum.

The 4 week curriculum helps people learn to see themselves through God's eyes and rest in His approval, purpose and eternal hope. Through support and prayer with a case manager, participants uncover past wounds to help reveal a new identity.
