“Gowns Going Green” Program is a Step in the Right Direction!

The RHS PTSA would like to thank all those who participated in the “Gowns Going Green” program for their support and commitment to being environment-friendly!

The RHS PTSA piloted the “Gowns Going Green” initiative to help keep RHS graduation gowns out of landfills and help them get recovered, reused, and repurposed! About 15 gowns were dropped off by previous senior families before winter break and 10 were picked up by current seniors or their families. We also raised $34 that help lower the cost of Grad Night Celebration tickets for all seniors! Win, win!

Let’s not stop there! We plan to offer this program once again to next year’s senior class. So, current senior families, if you anticipate that you may not use your 2025 gowns after June 17, keep an eye out for instructions on how you can donate your gown after the graduation ceremony for the class of 2026. The PTSA will communicate when and where you can donate your gown so we can keep this program going!
