This Sunday will be Consecration Sunday, where we thank God for all the ways in which the members of St. Francis share their time, talent and treasure. If you have not had an opportunity to submit a pledge card, please consider adding it to the collection plate on Sunday. We will continue to welcome pledge cards after Consecration Sunday, and we will plan our 2022 budget based on the pledges that we receive by Sunday.

"Wellness" - Our 2022 Stewardship Campaign
Consecration of the pledges received so far will be this Sunday at both services.
It is not too late to submit your pledge with the Estimate of Giving Card sent to you in the mail using the enclosed envelope, or placing it in the offering on Sunday morning. Pick one up at the Information Center or go online.
As part of our stewardship campaign, we will create a stewardship quilt that will include a quilting square for every pledge card. Pledges can be in the form of time, talent or treasure. You simply need to return a pledge card, and you will be included in our quilt. Our quilt will be a beautiful physical manifestation of our spiritual and social unity.

Threads of Love Sewing Ministry - Come Join Us!
During this Stewardship season we are focusing on wellness, which includes getting involved, contributing to our community, sharing our talents and skills, cultivating healthy relationships and communicating our thoughts, feelings and ideas.
If you are interested in a ministry that “checks all of these boxes,” please consider joining the Threads of Love Sewing Ministry. We are a very collaborative group and meet in person twice each month, but have options for ministry members to participate from home as well.
Current Projects
Baby Blanket Ensembles - We are busy making baby blanket ensembles for the Salud Medical Center in Woodburn. Each ensemble is unique and includes a double weight flannel receiving blanket, burp cloth and knitted cap - a perfect welcome for a new baby! In January 2021, we gifted Salud with almost 100 ensembles and are striving for 125 to present to them in January 2022. If you can cut fabric, iron, sew straight seams or knit, we welcome your help. Pre-cut kits are available for members to sew at home, which makes completing an ensemble a quick and fun project!
Stewardship Quilt - When the Stewardship Campaign is complete, our ministry will help with the preparation of the quilt top and backing for professional quilting and then add the binding after it is quilted. If you would like to help with this effort or would like to learn more about the process, please join us.
Our meeting dates are listed in the weekly parish email blast and also in the Sunday bulletins. We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming meeting!
Jean Atwell, Mary Kirk, Dale Rushton, Betsy Yacob

Knitters Alert!
We will again be knitting baby hats for the Salud Medical Clinic in Woodburn, to be given to newborns there (and to their older siblings)! The members of our Sewing Ministry have offered to make matching receiving blankets to go with some of the hats, so they could be given as a set. As you all knit the hats, please bring them to the church so the stitchers can make a matching little quilt. This is a lovely new idea. We have generous and talented folks in our knitting and sewing ministries!
We will be ingathering the baby hats, blankets, baby clothes and diapers when we celebrate Epiphany in January.

Bishop Akiyama has issued guidelines regarding worship in diocesan churches.
Masks are required during all church services, and while gathering in either the Narthex, or the Parish Hall.
Exchanging "The Peace" should be done from a distance rather than in the form of a hug or handshake.
We will no longer be distributing wine during communion.. We will only distribute wafers. (Just a reminder: receiving both the wine and the bread is not necessary. Taking either the bread or the wine constitutes complete communion.) We invite you to come to the altar rail to receive the consecrated bread. If you want only a blessing, please come to the altar rail and cross your arms across your chest and Fr. Brendan will bless you.
Indoor fellowship activities such as offee hour, bible studies, book groups, meetings, etc. will be moved outdoors, eliminated, or moved online, as appropriate. If moved outdoors, individuals should remain masked unless proper distance is provided between households.
Some activities may continue indoors. Masks and maintaining a safe distance from others, regardless of vaccination status, will be expected.
Thank you for your cooperation.
