Instead, it delivers an 80% indirect / 20% direct distribution with a distinctive open-web optical profile finished in highly reflective matte white eco-friendly paint. The work of David Trubridge one of the world’s preeminent designers and a recognized leader in environmentally responsible design. David’s work is overarchingly inspired by the wonders of nature encountered in his home country of New Zealand. The thread that runs through his work is clear: he is deeply moved by nature, deeply respectful of the lessons we should learn from it and attentive to the aesthetics of the response that earlier societies have had in the face of it.

Post-World War II Italy established itself internationally thanks to the happy combination of industrial design and the most famous names in architecture. Stilnovo was one of the first companies to transfer this combination to the lighting sector: since its foundation in 1946, it has never ceased to fascinate historians, collectors and design lovers.

Since 1995 Cutu Matazuelos (1973) and Eva Prego (1974) have formed the multidisciplinary studio Stone Designs. They took their first steps into the world of interior design with exhibitions and stands, which allowed them to experiment with different approaches and forge a very personal vision of design, based on naturalness and simplicity.

Stone Designs has worked with B.lux on several custom lighting projects, for both restaurants and retail spaces. In 2014, B.lux included Stone Designs’ Scout suspension lamp in its catalogue of decorative lighting for homes. Thus, the studio joined the brand's cadre of regular designers.

Berry

The Berry collection showcases a lamp equipped with a magnetic system that enables us to adjust its position as desired.

Berry is made of aluminum and features an LED light source with a concentrated optics that offers 3 different beam angles ranging from 18º to 60º, allowing us to focus and direct the light in the space. It has a diameter of 8 cm and a total height of 35 cm.

Air Traffic Control Tower, Vancouver International Airport Case Study

The client came to BL Lighting in search of a powerful and reliable luminaire to replace failing lights on the Air Traffic Control Tower (ATC) at the Vancouver International Airport (YVR). Fed up with outdated controls technology and repeated fixture replacements, YVR wanted a local solution, entrusting BL Lighting to deliver excellence in service, support, and quality.

Several stringent requirements needed to be met for a successful outcome. Programming was required to be independent of the YVR internet system, and precise beam angles and radio frequencies had to be met to avoid any interference with piloting aircraft and the ATC communications. From a small installation footprint, a light throw distance of several hundred feet was desired, and the fixtures had to be sturdy enough to hold up to vandalism, a common occurrence in this very high traffic area.

BL worked closely with the team including City Electric Supply and Young Electric Contractor, brainstorming and mocking up with samples on site, to choose the right product to overcome all of the specific challenges, BL areaLINEAR LN1312 RGBW, our robust LED linear facade light.
