MVCAC Legislative Day & Spring Committee Meetings | March 24-26, 2025

March 24-26, Embassy Suites Sacramento

MVCAC’s annual Legislative Day and Spring committee meetings will be March 24-26 at the Embassy Suites in Sacramento. Please be sure to register here.

Leg Day is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25. Please visit the Leg Day website to find a legislative contact list, outreach email, and other important information for scheduling legislative visits. Like last year, agencies will schedule their meetings directly with legislators or staff. This is beneficial as legislators appreciate hearing directly from their constituents and it helps MVCDs build relationships with their representatives.

If you are having trouble scheduling meetings and would like assistance, please contact MVCAC's Executive Director Megan MacNee at mmacnee@amgroup.us. In addition to Leg Day, there will be working group and committee meetings – please click here to see the schedule of events.

MVCAC 2026 Annual Conference

February 1- 3, 2026 with the board meeting on the 4th.

More details will be posted on our website as they become available.

Glossary of Terms

MVCAC has created a glossary of terms to provide clear and concise definitions of common terms that mosquito and vector control agencies use in public education and outreach efforts. The definitions are intentionally short and use plain language so they are easy to understand and can be translated into other languages. While MVCDs are not required to use the words and definitions below the goal is to have consistency in language across MVCAC and its member agencies.

Send in Tick Program Updates

Dear MVCAC Members,

As part of our ongoing efforts to support tick surveillance and Lyme disease prevention, please remember to provide any updates to your district’s tick programs to Kelly Fuery, who is serving as our representative on the Lyme Disease Advisory Council. You can reach her at kellyl@msmosquito.org

Additionally, please contact DART to grant permission to share tick data with third parties. This collaboration will help strengthen our public health initiatives and contribute to a broader understanding of tick-borne disease risks across California.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter and for your continued support in advancing our vector control efforts.

Best regards,

Conlin
