Our #MyMagisMessage for the week comes from Rachel Collins, a junior Exercise Science major and Leadership Development minor from Madison, Ohio! Rachel has served with Lutheran Metropolitan Ministries "Chopping for Change", Carroll Reads, Youthability, Eliza Bryant village, and the Fun with Fitness Lobo Lab!
If you had to state your life mission off the top of your head, in one sentence, what would it be?
My life mission is to not only be happy within my own personal life, but bring joy to the people around me. It has always been and will always be a goal of mine to continue to serve and help others. Service has given me the opportunity to live my own mission each semester.
#MyMagisMessage
At this point in my life there has been many ups and downs, but service has consistently impacted me in a positive way. It has brought me to meet so many wonderful people throughout my time at JCU. I am motivated to continue my journey through college with service remaining a priority. I did not know what to expect when I was required to do service in the fall of my freshman year, but it really influenced me to continue as a student liaison. During the pandemic, service has become even more important as we adjust to the new "normal." I am so grateful to be able to continue service during this school year as it has been a difficult time for many of us. Service through the CSSA will forever impact me during this time at JCU and motivates me to help others even after earning a degree.
