Wildflower Park Now Open
The City's newest park, Wildflower Park, opened to the public on Saturday, Oct. 22 following a ceremonial ribbon cutting. Located on 2.3-acres, the multi-million dollar, newly-renovated park fronts the Intracoastal Waterway near the downtown district.

Be sure to mark your calendars for upcoming events at the City's new passive park:

Nov. 21 - A local sand artist will create a 6-foot sand sculpture to commemorate the opening of Wildflower Park. Stop by throughout the week to see the progress.

Dec. 16 - Palm Beach Plein Air artists will set up their easels to capture the views at Wildflower Park. Come by to see their work.

Jan. 7 - FREE Tai Chi class at 9am

TimberTech Championship Returns to Boca Raton
The City is a proud sponsor of the TimberTech Championship, which returns to Boca Raton Oct. 31 - Nov. 6 at the Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club (2425 W Maya Palm Dr). Rounds 1, 2 and 3 will take place Friday - Sunday, Nov. 4-6.

TimberTech Championship a Zero Waste Event for 2nd Year
The TimberTech Championship continues to be a Zero Waste Event and will be using the City's Sustainable Events Guide to ensure that the tournament is reducing its impact on the surrounding community.

City Commits to Traffic Safety with Vision Zero
The Boca Raton City Council unanimously voted to approve Resolution 122-2022 on Oct. 25, designating Boca Raton as a "Vision Zero City." The resolution directs City staff to create a Vision Zero Action Plan to establish a goal of no severe traffic injuries or fatalities. Learn more on the City's website.

Boca Raton CRA and City Council Approve Land Lease for Performing Arts Center
On Oct. 12, the City approved Resolution No. 2022-04-CRA and Ordinance No. 5616 allowing a 94-year land lease for The Center for Arts & Innovation (TCAI) on a 1.8-acre plot of land adjacent to and including the Mizner Park Amphitheater.

Light the Lights at the Holiday Tree Lighting
Join us in kicking off the holiday season! The annual Holiday Tree Lighting returns to the Mizner Park Amphitheater (590 Plaza Real) on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 6pm - 9pm.
In addition to the ceremonial tree lighting, attendees will enjoy vendors, snow flurries, trackless train rides, food and beverage, a stage show, and more!

New Trees Planted Along El Rio Trail
The Office of Sustainability recently partnered with Community Greening to plant 40 new native trees along the El Rio Trail and nearby areas. Tree species included live oaks, gumbo limbos, slash pines, and pitch apples. As these trees grow they will provide much needed shade over the El Rio Trail. A big thanks to Community Greening and volunteers who helped make this happen!
