Pinning Ceremony held for surgical technology graduates

Edgecombe Community College Surgical Technology graduates participated in their pinning ceremony on Dec. 13. The seven graduates have met the education requirements to take the certification exam through the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Association.

Nina White quickly felt a connection with the Edgecombe Community College students who were recently honored during a Scholarship Recognition Ceremony held on the Tarboro campus. The ECC alumna turned business owner and motivational speaker, is a testament to the significance of embracing obstacles, pursuing passions and harnessing talent.

Fall academic honor rolls announced

Edgecombe Community College is proud to announce its President’s List for the Fall 2024 semester. More than 30 full-time students earned a 4.0 grade point average, placing them on the President’s List. Edgecombe Community College is also proud to announce its Dean’s List for Fall 2024. Those full-time students earned a grade point average of 3.500 to 3.999. The following full-time students are on ECC’s President’s and Dean’s lists.

ECC Foundation joins other community colleges to support Mayland

The Edgecombe Community College Foundation recently joined other community college foundations by donating $1 thousand dollars to assist Mayland Community College, located in Spruce Pine, NC. The college was impacted by Hurricane Helene. 


The North Carolina Association of Community College Presidents facilitated the effort to group colleges together to support each of the affected colleges in the western part of the state.

PROMOTING ECC

ECC graduate, Christopher Lacy, and ECC instructor, Suzi Shippen-Wagner, were featured on the front page of the Rocky Mount Telegram and in the Wilson Times.

Twin County Media also named Lacy a Twin County Champion. 

ECC was mentioned in the Rocky Mount Telegram because of a recent tour of Natron Energy’s plant in Holland, Mich. 

Did you know the Rocky Mount Telegram included two articles on ECC’s barbering program on their front page on Dec. 19? 

The Wilson Times featured an article about the ECC Foundation Scholarship Awards Ceremony.
