Greetings Aquila Families,

We celebrated Disability Awareness Week. This initiative supports our Unified Champion School program. Each day our students were given a Disability Awareness Week challenge and were shown a video that showed students and people fostering awareness and inclusion. One Aquila student with different abilities helped deliver the message/challenge which helped our students be aware that at Aquila we celebrate and include ALL our students.

Monday's Challenge: On the playground, find a new friend to play with!

Tuesday's Challenge: Find three other students you don't know well and give them a compliment.

Wednesday's Challenge: Show empathy, help someone.

Thursday's Challenge: Include others.

Tomorrow's Challenge: Let someone go ahead of you in line.

Aquila Musical ~ Madagascar - A Musical Adventure JR.

Rehearsal Information:

*First rehearsal: TODAY - Thursday, December 9, from 2:30-4:00 PM

*Rehearsals will take place each week on Thursday, from 2:30-4:00 PM.

*There will be additional scheduled practices for actors who sing solos on select Mondays.

Mandatory Zoom Meeting for Parents/Guardians:

We will expect a representative adult for each student to attend virtually. If you cannot attend the meeting, please let us know ahead of time, via email. It is key that parents/guardians have all the information and are clear on expectations before we begin. This is part of our community building and beneficial for the overall success of our show. St. Louis Park Schools adopted a new math curriculum this year, Bridges in Mathematics. Here are a few online resources that families can access at home.

Donation Request

The Aquila Office is looking for donations of hand and foot warmers for staff who are helping outside during arrival, dismissal, and recess. Please have your student drop them off at the front office or give them to their classroom teacher. THANK YOU!

Cold Weather ~ Outdoor Clothing

Please remember students go outside for recess every day! Make sure they have outdoor clothing. Label all clothing. Students should visit the Lost & Found which is located near the cafeteria.

Students will always go outside unless the regular temperature is below 0 degrees or the windchill temperature is -10 degrees or below. We will watch the temperature to keep our students safe.

As we are entering into winter, your child might experience more colds and sickness. It is important that you call into our attendance line each day that your child is not feeling well. Please call 952-928-6507 each day your child will be staying home due to illness.
