At Caritas Clinics, caring for the whole person is at the forefront of everything we do. That’s why our Behavioral Health initiative is incorporating resilience building and mental toughness into our clinics in the form of yoga practice. Yoga has been known to increase body awareness, relieve chronic stress patterns, and lead to mental clarity and calmness. These benefits are so crucial to the large majority of our patients who suffer from trauma.

Caritas reached out to a number of fitness centers, asking if they could donate yoga mats in an effort to get our program on the ground so to speak. Two agencies responded with a supply of mats, and we’d like to acknowledge their generosity: Gaiam, Inc. in Louisville, CO and the Bonner Springs Family YMCA in Bonner Springs, KS.
As shepherds of our communities, we know that our neighborhoods are only as healthy as the people who live in them. The partnerships we build in our communities are invaluable to the health of our patients. Without them we would never be able to effect change and realize our Mission—to provide the poor and vulnerable with quality body, mind and spiritual care.

Thank you to the Bonner Springs Family YMCA, and Gaiam for partnering with the Caritas family to make this world a healthier place!
