PAST OFDD Programs

Academic Leadership Program

OFDD is once again offering the Academic Leadership Program for approximately 20 tenured faculty in leadership positions, such as chairs, and those aspiring to advance.

This will be the sixth year this program is offered. Attendees will have opportunities during the 2025-26 academic year to learn from university leaders about topics such as managing crisis, cultivating free speech and a culture of belonging, and conflict management. Each session is designed with an action-learning pedagogy. Time is allotted for questions and answers.

Nominations are due April 11.To learn more, check out our website.

Grant Writing Assistance for Early Career Faculty

OFDD and the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation regularly hold grant writing sessions. For example, this Spring about 20 faculty members are participating in a multi-part Grant Fellows Workshop series designed to help early career faculty craft quality, review-ready proposals. Topics discussed include trends and opportunities in grant making, integrated evaluation plans, and persuasive writing.

Another grant writing session is planned next month:

April 10, 2-3:30 PM, 229 ILR Conference Center, Faculty Early Career Development Award Workshop. Join us in-person for the best experience or attend remotely if needed. Previous NSF CAREER recipients will share insights on crafting successful applications, including strategies to incorporate reviewer feedback, and effective writing tips. Open to assistant professors interested in applying for this prestigious award. Get a head start by reviewing Cornell's NSF CAREER Toolkit. Register.
