Hello, 2025, and Theatre Family 👋

Happy New Year!

As we step into 2025, we reflect on the incredible resilience and creativity that defines our vibrant theatre community. We are thrilled to share our excitement for the new opportunities and events in store for this year which you will hear about in our Annual Membership Meeting on January 13, 2025, at Second City. This will be a great opportunity to get reacquainted with your fellow colleagues and learn about how the League will be utilizing our collective membership to uplift, promote and support our work.

This week we launched Chicago Theatre Week for its 13th season. The office phones were ringing off the hook at 9:55AM Tuesday with community members waiting to explore our stages! This made my heart happy to know the demand for live stories is alive and appreciated. Chicago theatres have long been a beacon for diverse voices and stories that reflect the complexities of our world.

In this month of reflection, we invite you to participate in programming that celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream of a more inclusive society, with performances, dialogues, and community events dedicated to advancing equity and social change.

Finally, we are arriving on our last week for membership renewal which are due by January 15, 2025 for all League members.

We have a full calendar of events, workshops, industry nights, promotions and services booked for the year with a focus on strengthening the support for our industry. I look forward to working with you in 2025 and beyond.
