October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month
|
This month is National Disability Employment Awareness Month. At The Guild, our vocational services staff work with students to develop job skills and determine their unique employment goals. In addition to the school's student-run coffeeshop, the vocational department is looking to expand its services with mock-office, retail and restaurant environments for students to practice skills. What has The Guild's speech and language department been up to?
It's Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Awareness month, and we celebrated by checking in with our speech and language team to see what they've been up to. Recently, they implemented colorful supersized communication boards into The Guild's programs to integrate accessible communication directly within students' environments. Read more here.
