Celebrating 16 Years of Cutler Bay
|
This month, Cutler Bay celebrated 16 years of incorporation! On November 8, 2005, Residents of Cutler Bay voted to incorporate and the charter of the town became effective the next day, November 9, 2005.
Our community also came together to celebrate this milestone at our Rock the Bay: Cutler Bay's 16th Birthday Bash event that took place on November 6, 2021. Check out the event photos.

62 New Trees Planted with Help of Neat Streets Grant
With the assistance of a $20,475 grant we received from Neat Streets Miami—that we matched—we recently planted 62 Florida-friendly trees in our community: 19 Live Oak trees, 23 Silver Buttonwood, 10 Green Buttonwood, and 10 Gumbo Limbos.
Each year we carry out a tree-planting project that gives preference to areas in our Town with a low tree canopy.

Over 50 Volunteers Help Restore Coastal Land
On November 13, over 50 volunteers came out to help restore the 2-acre upland area southeast of the intersection of Old Cutler Rd and SW 184 St. They planted native trees, plants and shrubs; removed invasive plant species; removed litter; and learned about the adjoining wetlands, pine rocklands and the sensitive ecology of Biscayne Bay.
Thank you to all our volunteers: Council Members Roger Coriat, BJ Duncan, Suzy Lord; Town Manager Rafael Casals and Town staff; our Environmental Task Force; Eduardo Varona and Livablecutler, the Students from Cutler Bay Senior High, COAST Academy, Miami Southridge Senior High, Miami-Dade Schools Police Explorers, Mater Bay Academy, John A. Ferguson Senior High, Frank C. Martin K-8, and Riviera Preparatory; and to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation for funding this project. We couldn’t have done it without you!
