Eucharistic Visitor Ministry & Training
TRAINING:
THIS SUNDAY
After the Late Service
Eucharistic Visitors (EVs) have the special joy of sharing the sacramental meal we share at the altar each week with those in the parish not able to be with us on Sunday mornings. Serving as an EV is a ministry of connection and care reminding all of us that "we who are many are one body, for we all share in one bread, one cup."
As an EV, you may set up visits as works best with your calendar and the calendar of those whom you're visiting. There is not an expected day or time that visits must happen - nor is this ministry a weekly responsibility. Depending on the number of EVs, you will probably be scheduled about one week a month - again, with the flexibility to schedule visits during your appointed week as works best for you (not necessarily on Sunday after church).
This is a ministry with a lot of flexibility that would work well for many different people with different schedules and demands on their time. You also do not have to serve as a Eucharistic Minister (those who assist at the altar and administer the chalice on Sundays) in order to serve as a Eucharistic Visitor.
Please see the included video (at the end of this article) of Jan Travins sharing her experience and joy of serving as an EV.
Training for Eucharistic Visitors will take place on Sunday, August 6, following the 10:30am service.
Please think and pray if you may be called to this ministry. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mother Elizabeth or Elizabeth Colonna.
