2022 Pledge Update
Thank you, thank you to all who have pledged. Our current pledge total is $197,000. If you have not pledged yet, please consider doing it this year. Plate collection is at an all-time low and pledging is a great way to have income consistently coming in for the church. Here is the online link to pledge or donate: https://www.stmartinsnj.org/donate/
St. Martin's has
"Adopted" a Family
If anyone would still like to provide a gift, Walmart gift cards will be greatly appreciated. The children need shoes and this would allow the mother to purchase them locally. Please remember, all gifts are to be returned no later than Sunday, December 19th. You may wrap them or not. If you drop them off at church before the 19th, place them under the tree or in the coat closet. And don’t forget to place the tag you took off the tree on the gift. Thank you again for your generosity.

On December 19th, we will be having a fellowship pasta dinner where we will be wrapping gifts and Father Rob will bless the gifts.
Women's Group Christmas Party and Cookie Exchange
All women of the parish are invited to a Christmas Party on December 12th after the 10:30 service. We will be having soup and sandwiches. If you would like to participate in the cookie exchange, please bake 4 dozen cookies of your choice. Please email Alison at randyali@aol.com if you plan to attend and/or participate in the cookie exchange.
Adult Forum during Advent
Please join us on Sundays from 9:30-10:00 am in the Lady Chapel for the Adult Forum. During Advent, we will be praying the Gospel Reading of the day using the ancient practice of Lectio Divina. No experience is necessary. Come center your mind and heart in Christ as we prepare our hearts for Christmas.
Prayer Requests
  • Marilyn has requested prayers for Andrea, Stephanie, and Alex.
  • She also asks for prayers for her granddaughter, Kelsey.
  • Anne Marie Verdiramo requests prayers for her friend Sarah and mom, Marion, who had surgery, yesterday, Tuesday 7 Dec.

Please send your prayer intentions to Philip at philip.muniz@gmail.com.
RITE 13 in December
Rite 13 will not be meeting on Sundays in the Lady Chapel after Mass. Instead, Rite 13 youth are encouraged to attend the St. Nicholas Day celebration at the Kellams (Sunday, Dec. 5, at 4 pm), and to help wrap gifts, or help green the Church on Sunday, Dec. 19. We will gather again in the Lady Chapel on Sunday, January 2, after the 10:30 am Mass.
Appalachian Service Project
There is the possibility that we will be able to participate in an ASP trip in the summer of 2022. If you would be interested in participating, please let Father Rob know as soon as possible. If you are interested, please contact Fr. Rob.

Sunday Evening Zoom Meetings during Advent

Advent is the time for quiet preparation of our hearts for the coming of the Lord. In this busy season, it is important to allow time for reflection and peace. We have about 10 advent wreaths available if you did not get one last year. We also have some candles available. Please contact Alison if you would like either.

Each Sunday of Advent, beginning November 28, join us at 7 pm via Zoom for a few minutes of fellowship and the sharing of blessings, thanksgivings, and prayers followed by a short Compline service. The Compline service leaflet can be found on the stmartinsnj.org website. Here is the Zoom link and Compline leaflet: https://www.stmartinsnj.org/2021/11/16/advent-at-st-martins/
Altar Guild
The Christmas Season is nearly upon us! Last year we did not decorate the church for this wonderful season, but this year we want to make sure the sanctuary is as beautiful as it has always been.
The poinsettias and greenery that adorn the Altar and Sanctuary at St. Martin’s during the Christmas season enhance the beauty and holiness of our Church and remind us of the spirit of love and joy that this time of year represents.
This year we are inviting all parishioners to donate towards the costs of these adornments and to participate in the “Greening of the Church” on December 19 after the 10:30 service.
Please place your donations in the offering plate or send them to the Church Office (1350 Washington Valley Road, Bridgewater NJ 08807).
Make checks payable to St. Martin’s Episcopal Church and please specify “Christmas Flowers” in the memo section of the check. You can also donate online at https://www.stmartinsnj.org/altar-flowers/
Thank you for your support of St. Martin’s and the Christmas Flower Fund. If you have questions or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
