BWL Holds Grand Opening for New Delta Energy Plant

On August 23, the Delta Township Board, along with the entire Lansing Region celebrated the grand opening of the Lansing Board of Water & Light’s (BWL) Delta Energy Plant. The new natural gas-fired plant replaces outdated coal-powered plants and can generate 250 megawatts.

The new facility is also significantly cleaner, more reliable, and more efficient to run. Delta Township is proud to be the home of Mid-Michigan’s newest clean energy source, making our community and the surrounding areas more attractive and cost-efficient options for substantial economic development now and into the future.

Delta Celebrated the Completion of Two Recent Grant Projects

Mount Hope Park Bike

Fix Station

We are excited to share that a new Saris Bike Fix Station has been installed along the pedestrian pathway in Mt. Hope Park. The station is located at the north end of the pathway, and we hope that lots of riders will enjoy this amenity for many years to come. We would also like to thank the TCBA (Tri-County Bicycle Association, Lansing, MI) for the grant funds which were used to purchase this piece of equipment. Your generosity and advocacy will encourage bicycling within the Delta Township community.

Installation of Information Display Cases at Paddle Launches

You might have noticed our new information display cases at the Delta Mills and West Willow Paddle Launches! We would like to thank the Mid-Michigan Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA) for providing the funds to the Middle Grand River Organization of Watersheds (MGROW) for the purchase of these information cases. Thank you MGROW for your hard work and dedication to improving the access sites and paddling opportunities that we have in Delta Township!

August Business of the Month:
Eaglemonk Pub and Brewery

EagleMonk Pub and Brewery is our August Business of the Month!

"As we celebrate our 10 Anniversary doing business in Delta Township we are just as proud today as we were when we opened. Our business has grown to include a large beer garden with live music outside, weather permitting, and a larger offering of craft beer, wine, hard cider, mead, and seltzer. The food menu has evolved over the years with spicier options. We have been supported since before we opened when Dan met with Ed Reed and we were presented with the Business of the Year Award in 2017. Our mug club membership has grown to 2,225 because Delta Township is such a welcoming community, and we are happy to be honored as the business of the month to celebrate this Anniversary. Our goal was to create a neighborhood pub and with the help of everyone in Delta Township, we have succeeded. We’re open Tuesday – Friday 3-10 pm, Saturday 12-10 pm, and Sunday 12-9 pm. Stop in and share a craft beverage and pizza with us" - Dan and Sonia Buonodono
