Services and Zoom Links
October 14, 2021
Dear Friends,

One of the blessings of the past week has been seeing the amount of items that came in for those who are assisted by the ministries of Holy Trinity, Eaton Square and the Toronto Urban Native Mission.

The ideal would be a society where no-one is homeless or hungry. The reality is that the hungry and homeless are always with us, and loving our neighbour means that we must care for their needs.

Thank you for your constant kindness and generosity.

This season of Thanksgiving is one where we are reminded to be grateful for all God's gifts, from the stunning pictures of the Aurora Borealis that have been shared throughout Canada this week to the cheeky chipmunks that dart through our gardens, from the joy of seeing a small grandchild to a phone call from an old friend.

To bless and be blessed is our daily walk with Jesus. I give thanks for all of you, for this wonderful community.

May we each wake up and start the day with the words of Psalm 118:24 in our hearts.

"This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it."

Yours,
Rev. Nicola

Santa Sacks

Our first week of Santa Sacks collection went with a blast! We already have 33 of 75 kids from the Moorelands program taken care of. Thank You!
If you would like to support this year's Santa Sacks drive there are two options for you to do so.
Option #1: You Shop. For this option either Ruth or Andrew will find you a child to shop for, we will give you their Name, age, and gender. We ask that you put together a package including something fun and some warms things, hats, mitts, scarves. We do request that the hats and mitts be lined.
Option #2: We Shop. If you don't feel comfortable going out and doing this shopping we will happily do it for you. Please let Ruth or Andrew know that you would like to support one (maybe two) of the children. Then, drop off either cash or a cheque designated Santa Sacks at the church $40 per child and you are done!
If you have any questions please feel free to get in touch with Revd Andrew and he'll be happy to help.

Bible Study
The Life of King David in 15 Life-Lessons
"Fearless warrior, passionate family man, loyal follower of God, and a person deeply affected by those around him, King David lived a tumultuous and triumphant life. He was the progenitor of a royal dynasty chosen by G‑d, but he suffered mightily from strife, especially at the hand of those closest to him."
Rabbi Menachem Posner has designed a wonderful study of David's life that we will start on September 26. It will run On Wednesdays at 2pm and Thursdays at 7pm until the second week of November. It will remain on ZOOM for now though that may change as time passes.

Flowers for Church

Parishioners are welcome to provide flowers for our services in Memoriam or Thanksgiving each week. A donation of $50 is welcomed and the flowers are given afterwards to someone who needs a pick me up, someone who is celebrating an event, or you may like to take a bunch home yourself. Please provide us with a note as to your intention so that we can include your message and your loved ones in our weekly prayers. Our florist, Lindy's in Stouffville, does a wonderful job and it is a special way to remember a loved one, anniversary or event.
Pastoral Visits - in Person

As always, Revs Nicola and Andrew, and Nurse Jean Hoover are available to respond to pastoral needs. Please contact the church if you need to speak to one of us.
