Hello, ECC Families!
Welcome back!  And for our new families, welcome to our ECC!

I must say, it is understatement that we were very excited for the first of school with ALL of our scholars back together! Looking forward to having a COLORFUL school year! This week has been filled with the return to some of our back-to-school traditions. We also welcomed our new energetic and committed educators and support staff to the ECC family. We are excited for you to meet them!

We kicked off the new year with this year’s theme, “A Sense of Community.” with all of our administrators, teachers, and staff. It was evident from the energy, the celebration, and the commitments that we reaffirmed to our students and families that ECC staff are entering the 2021-2022 school year stronger than ever!

A Black woman with long hair sitting outside with her arms crossed over her leg. She is wearing a dark blue suit and pants and is smiling at the camera.
We also are thrilled to have a new superintendent Glennis Matthews, our first Black Deaf superintendent in the United States! We can’t wait to work with her as we know that her expertise in STEM would benefit our program.

We will have a great school year!

As a reminder to our families, we continue to ask that all staff, students and visitors wear a face covering while inside all buildings and classrooms on campus, regardless of vaccination status. We continue to monitor, update, and adapt to new COVID protocols to ensure the health and safety of everyone at TLC. Please continue to check our dedicated COVID-19 webpage for modifications to our Reopening Plan.
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Have a wonderful weekend!

Families and Caregivers,

This morning, prior to students arriving on campus, a member of our staff was struck by a vehicle while crossing the road. This incident happened as student transportation vehicles were arriving for the start of the school day. See the vlog below for additional information.

Please discuss today’s events with your child(ren) and feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher, advisor or counselor should you feel your child may benefit from additional resources and support.
