Get your vehicle ready for winter

While there's no snow in our weather forecast, it's important get your vehicle ready for winter.

"Winterize" your vehicle by checking the battery, wipers, coolant and tires. Have snow tires or studded tires installed before the snow and ice falls or carry tire chains. Make sure you have a snow brush/ice scraper in good condition.

Check the contents of your vehicle emergency kit. Make sure you have:

  • Blankets

  • Working flashlights

  • Jumper cables

  • Flares/emergency lights

Finally, make sure you keep your fuel tank at least half full. If winter road conditions stall traffic, a full gas tank can keep you moving and warm.
