When school and transit buses and their riders are subjected to congestion, operating and capital costs increase, travel time increases, on-time reliability decreases, and the overall competitiveness and attractiveness of these modes decreases.
"Locating and Costing Congestion for School Buses and Public Transportation: Phase II" will be offered virtually on August 29, 2 p.m. ET and will be presented by North Carolina State University researchers Jeremy Scott and Narmina Murphy, both with the Institute for Transportation Research and Education. Their phase 2 research streamlines a methodology developed to spatially identify where buses experience recurring congestion and how much delay is experienced. Sign up today!
