Resilience and Perseverance:
Tracey M. is one of the MSP's clients who is ready to spread her wings. She transitioned from the shelter to RISE (transitional housing), and is now ready to begin her independent and happy chapter.
Working with MSP staff, Tracey has been tenacious in her employment search, and has landed a job as a supervisor at a women's residential facility. She has also established her own company, Samuellas House, LLC. Samuella, meaning "The Act of God," will focus on women's mental health issues, domestic violence survivors, human trafficking, and workforce development. She is currently looking for grant opportunities and later will be looking for office space. One day, Tracey hopes to partner with My Sister's Place. She expresses true gratitude for her journey with MSP.
And lastly but equally thrilling, Tracey is now filming a series on Roku TV with a TV personality based on some of Tracey's life experiences. A true example of resiliency and perseverance!
While we have many victories as described above,
the need continues to outpace our ability to respond.
This summer we received 72 calls from survivors seeking shelter,
we could only accommodate six families.
