We include here an Alleluia for each of you, our readers and viewers. In the Easter days, may we help one another to hear Jesus’ saving Word anew and ponder the Resurrection promise. But we also know that before the Resurrection much suffering had to be endured; before the tomb was left behind death was the cruel reality. We are currently experiencing this reality in the war in Ukraine; both suffering and Easter hope are part of the journey for real healing to be realized. May the resurrected One grant each of us Easter wisdom and grace as we remember all who are currently suffering injustices across the world.

In these post-COVID days, life at the Sisters of Charity is beginning to reflect spring’s awakening. We look forward to the Motherhouse campus opening up, welcoming visitors to walk the paths and enjoy nature’s beauty. In this issue of Charity in Motion we offer a few of the recent stories, honors and challenges among our Sisters and Associates. Find within this issue joys and activities, reflecting that the Sisters of Charity mission is alive and well.

Employees Celebrate Sisters During CSW
In honor of Catholic Sisters Week 2022, which carried the theme “Caring for Earth, Caring for You,” Sisters of Charity employees gifted individual Sisters with a succulent plant to brighten their rooms and homes. The week, held annually March 8-14, shines a light on the spirituality, mission and community building of women religious.

Ministry Spotlight
Celebrating the Earth and teaching others, particularly our youth, to care for all creation is an important part of the ministry at EarthConnection (EC). Directed by Sister of Charity Caroljean Willie, EC has begun a partnership with local Girl Scouts to offer programming for all ages. To learn more about EarthConnection, and the many other programs and webinars the ministry offers, please visit www.scearthconnection.org.
Discerning Our Hearts: A Lenten Journey
During this Lenten season Pope Francis suggests we discern where our hearts are directed, making it about what we desire to hold in our hearts: the hurt of our world; prayer, fasting, almsgiving; compassion; willingness to serve; openness; and longing for the love only God can provide – all Heart-felt choices! Might we live our lives from our hearts? Throughout these six weeks, the Sisters of Charity offer video reflections with a variety of ‘heart experts’ who share their wisdom and insight. You are welcome to join us. Click Here.
Around the Motherhouse: Unity in the Community
In celebration of Black History Month in February, Sisters of Charity and employees came together in a positive way – through a community food drive! More than 1,000 items were collected throughout the month for the Unity in the Community initiative, all benefitting local food pantries with a Sisters of Charity presence. Click Here.
