Jordan, who also issued this message to families, plans to offer an update at each board meeting, so the Milpitas community is fully aware of all the latest developments throughout our district.
The next regularly scheduled board meeting is Tuesday, September 14, with public session beginning at 7 p.m.

2021-22 Student Board Representatives participate in first school board meeting
|
|
MUSD Student Board Representative Mira Bhakta, representing Milpitas Middle College High School, was at the dais for the August 24 Board of Education meeting. She is the inaugural MMCHS student board rep since this is the first year of the new program.
Bhakta was joined by her counterparts Sydney Hoang, representing Milpitas HS, and Aeries Xiong, representing Cal Hills HS, who participated virtually for the hybrid-style meeting. Each student board rep, who offer insights into their school communities from a student perspective, introduced themselves and shared a quick report on the first few days of the 2021-22 school year.

The MUSD Board of Education ratified the summer hiring of six team members to begin the 2021-22 school year at the August 24 meeting.
Joining our MUSD Team are: Spangler Elementary Principal Parwinder Johal, Spangler Assistant Principal Julianna Flores, Rose Elementary Assistant Principal Michelle Sherer, Executive Director of Learning & Innovation Priti Johari, Director of Secondary Education Maurissa Koide, and Milpitas Adult Education Program Transition Specialist Angela Holmes.

District staff presents new agreements with MTA, CSEA employee groups for 2021-22
|
|
"The District wants to thank the leadership of MTA for our shared commitment to ensure we have a safe workplace environment," the staff report states. "In the MOU, the District and MTA recognize the importance of maintaining safe facilities and operations, for the benefit of the students and communities served by the District, its teachers and staff."
"The District wants to thank the Classified Leadership of CSEA for our shared commitment to ensure we have a safe workplace environment," staff details. "The MOU focuses on abiding by Cal-OSHA and all CDPH guidelines for Safety, Social Distancing, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Ventilation and Air Quality, Hand washing, Cleaning and Disinfecting, Vaccinations, Testing, Quarantine, Notification and Contact Tracing, Training, Specific Duties for Isolation Area, Class Size, Leaves, and Updated COVID-19 information."
