We're excited to announce the latest article in our series on the Creating Youth Opportunities (CYO) initiative—a groundbreaking ULC program empowering 11 libraries to serve 222 communities and reach over 411,000 opportunity youth. Historic Parkland Library Reopens After Decades-Long Closure
Louisville Free Public Library
After a decades-long closure, Louisville's historic Parkland Library is finally reopening. The library closed in 1986 due to budget cuts -- despite being one of the nine original libraries built in Louisville with funding from philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. With the help of a nearly decade-long grassroots effort, and additional funding from Mayor Craig Greenberg, the Parkland Library celebrated its reopening on Thursday. READ MORE.

Expanding Access to Collections Through AI-Enhanced Digitization
Boston Public Library
Boston Public Library is launching a large-scale digitization project to unlock hundreds of thousands of historically significant items previously inaccessible to the public. This multi-phase effort will give BPL the opportunity to pilot the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools to make vast historical collections freely available, modernize digitization processes, and responsibly integrate AI to expand access and discovery. New Visual Accessibility Kits Make the Library More Inclusive
St. Louis County Library
St. Louis County Library cardholders can now check out visual accessibility kits at all 20 county library branches. The library's new visual accessibility kits include a video magnifier, an adjustable LED lamp, and an LED angled hand held magnifier. The library’s goal is to eliminate barriers to access for people with visual impairments. READ MORE.
