As we celebrate 15 years in the Coastal Bend community, we remember the individuals, corporations, organizations, volunteers, staff, and others who helped us along the way. So many generous hearts believing in a mission to help those who need free medical care.
Our journey started with Dr. Gianna Talone-Sullivan who founded the first Mission of Mercy in 1992 with the assistance of her husband and current Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Michael Sullivan. They successfully launched the Maryland and Pennsylvania program in 1994 then again in Arizona in 1997.
Meetings were held in 2005, in Corpus Christi with Bishop Edmond Carmody, Hank Konerko, CEO, and Dave Liddle, CFO of Mission of Mercy. Their discussions, strategies, and goals led to opening a Mission of Mercy in Corpus Christi.
With continued prayers and planning, the Texas program was established in 2007 with our first clinic day held on September 17, 2007 at First United Methodist Church in Corpus Christi.
Since that first clinic day as a mobile clinic site, Mission of Mercy is now flourishing in a 14,000 square foot Medical Center located at 2421 Ayers in Corpus Christi!
We are grateful to everyone for their continued love, support, and prayers as we look forward to the next 15 years of taking care of patients by “Healing through Love.”
