NATIONAL POLICY UPDATES FOR KINSHIP FAMILIES

Congress has passed the Protecting America's Children by Strengthening Families Act (HR 9076)! This bill:



• Annually funds Kinship Navigator Programs with $10 million in competitive grants
• Specifies that Title IV-B Social Security Act funds can support kinship families and peer-to-peer programs
• Requires states to include kin caregivers and youth in child welfare planning
• Increases Title IV-B funding by $75 million annually

Greenlight looks forward to leveraging these funds to position Illinois as a national leader in kinship care services. Greenlight will work diligently to access this increased support and ensure that Illinois kinship families receive the quality care they deserve.
