PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Advent - the season of preparing for the coming of Jesus.

How are you and your family preparing for Advent? If you need help, just ask your children. They should be able to help because there are lots of Advent and Christmas preparations happening at school.

Each morning we begin the school day with an Advent prayer that connects to an Advent action that the students are encouraged to do throughout the day.

This Advent action helps the students and school staff stay focused on the true meaning of Christmas. Next week's advent actions are listed below. I encourage you to get into the spirit of Advent and Christmas by preparing your hearts and minds for the celebration of Jesus' birth by talking with your children. Ask them how they lived the Advent action each day and share with them how you did.

This could be a beautiful way to prepare yourself and your children for the true meaning of Christmas.

Advent Actions: Monday, December 13 - Thursday, December 16

Monday – Let us do our best to be good students and teachers today.
Tuesday - Let us do something for someone that brings them joy today.
Wednesday - Let us say a special prayer for our grandparents, living or deceased.
Thursday – Let us ask God to help us listen with faith and to believe that God is doing wonderful things for us and through us.

7th Grade Students Pray for Souls in Purgatory
In the month of November, Mrs. Duke's religion classes, along with Mrs. Quebodeaux's Catholics in Action club, prayed the Purgatory Prayer (below), given to St. Gertrude by Christ Himself as a means to release the Holy Souls of Purgatory from their suffering and into their glory.

Eternal Father, I offer You the Most Precious Blood of Your Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, those in my own home and within my family. AMEN

Each time this prayer is prayed, Our Lord promised that 1,000 souls would be released from Purgatory.

The total number of souls released from Purgatory this year is 3,052,000, an all time high!

It is their responsibility to make sure it is returned and placed in the tub. Please return the uniforms by tomorrow 12/10.
