Worship with Holy Communion
8:30am & 10am
| Live streaming on Sundays at 10am on our facebook page. Service recordings are available on our youtube channel. | |
Fifth Sunday Worship
During the year, we will offer just one service on fifth Sundays. It will be a healing service, and everyone present will be invited to receive an oil anointing. This is an ancient church practice (You can read about it in James 5:13-18). The oil is blessed by our bishop as a sign of the church's unity. Our healing service is on Sunday, March 30 at 10am.

Lenten Soup Suppers and Study continue this Wednesday, March 19. There will be five sessions entitled Lutherans 101. This will be a great time to review if you’re a lifelong Lutheran or get to know your faith community better if you are newer to the denomination. Our time together will end with Compline (night prayer) around the tables.
- 5:30: Soup Supper
- 6:15: Study time
- 6:45: Compline (night prayer)

You are invited to sign up to bring soup, bread, or to help with set up and clean up. Click here to sign up online or you can visit the Welcome Desk outside our worship space.
Come and join your Nativity family as we deepen our understanding of what it means to be Lutheran.
This year's Lenten midweek offerings will benefit Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity. Our goal is $5,000, and we have matching gifts of $2,500 to help us meet it! This means that every $1 given will be matched up to $2,500.

Asheville Trialogue
Ramadan is a most holy month for our Muslim neighbors. Similar to our season of Lent, it is a time for feasting, repentance, and renewal. Dennis Teall-Fleming will be taking Asheville Trialogue for an evening at the Asheville Masjid for Ramadan prayer and potluck. You are welcome to join us! Ramdan began recently, and participating in the evening's Maghrib (sunset) prayer and Iftar meal afterwards are always fun. Plan on going with us Friday, March 14. The timeframe should be from 7 until 9pm. Call/text Dennis at 704-674-0729 to get signed up. Thanks! Click here for the Asheville Islamic Center.

Volunteers Needed
If you don't know, I have been working with LDR Carolinas to help our neighbors in need of recovery and restoration of their homes and lives. One of our partners, CORE, is working in a Swannanoa community. They reached out to me that they are in need of volunteers to help them in the New Belgium Asheville Marathon & Half! If you are available Saturday morning, please consider helping! Here's more information:
CORE North Carolina is thrilled to partner with The New Belgium Asheville Marathon & Half, the largest annual marathon in Asheville. This event, taking place on Saturday, March 15 (6am - 2pm) brings together both locals and visitors to celebrate the vibrant community, and we are excited to participate with your support as a volunteer! For every 4-hours of your participation, CORE will receive $100 in donations! Your time will support CORE’s mission to empower communities in North Carolina, in crisis and beyond by fostering resilience, equity, and self-sufficiency. Programs that you would help support include disaster relief and climate preparedness, the Teen CERT program, which focuses on emergency preparedness and response, and the Harm Reduction Program, which addresses public health challenges related to the opioid crisis. CORE is incredibly proud to be led by local staff, and ultimately, by you, our dedicated and generous supporters. Thank you for choosing CORE as a charity of choice to power our work. Sign up here.
Thank you!

Congregation Council
Do you or someone you know want to serve on Nativity's Congregational Council? Do you have a desire and willingness to contribute to the life of Nativity's growing congregation by giving of your time, enthusiasm, and expertise? Then serving on the congregational council is the place for you! The Congregation Council is an elected body of the congregation which has oversight of the life of the congregation, including its worship life, to the end that everything is done in accordance with the Word of God and the faith and practice of the ELCA . (nativitylutheran.org) Nativity's Congregation Council elections for the 2025-2027 term are right around the corner and we would love to have you on the ballot. If you are interested in serving in this capacity or have any questions please email Leigha Jordan at leighajordan18@yahoo.com. Thank you for your prayerful consideration of this important role at Nativity as we gather through the love of Christ to care, grow, and serve!
Pennsylvania Response Team Using Nativity's Facilities
Nativity has an exciting opportunity to open its doors for the Lower Susquehann Synod (ELCA) Disaster Response Team the week of April 7 through April 11. This is a group of 38 volunteers that will be coming to NC to provide disaster response to the Swannanoa area. They will be staying at hotel but will use our kitchen and Fellowship Hall early in the mornings and evenings. Four of the volunteers will be making a hot breakfast and supper as well as providing what is needed for packed lunches for their fellow volunteers. We have invited this group to join us for our Soup Supper and Study on Wednesday, April 9. We are in need of individuals to provide extra soup for our guests that week (even if you are unable to attend, soup can be dropped off ahead of time). Click here to sign up electronically or use the Sign Up sheet on the Welcome Desk. Thank you!

Music as Mission
Nativity will be hosting the Winthrop University Chorale on Sunday, March 30 at 4pm. One of the outcomes from our Strategic Plan was to host concerts to further the outreach of our parish into the community. We started that in December with the Blue Ridge Ringers.
We could use your help!
Housing: Instead of asking you to house the 55+ students in your home, we are asking for donations to house them at Lutheridge the night of the 30th. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.
If you can help, please see or email Ed Hauck, our Director of Worship and Music.
