Save the Date - November Membership Meeting

The next monthly membership meeting will be held at the Chastleton. Our in-person meetings are open to all, but we encourage you to become a member. We hope to see you in November. Our featured speaker is Amy Fisher, with the Migrant Solidarity Mutual Aid Network who will talk about the organization’s work with the asylum seekers who were bused to DC. We will also share updates on neighborhood issues and the Streatery Award, and have a chance to enjoy some refreshments and meet & mingle with neighbors.

Dupont Circle Citizens Association is launching a Streatery Award, to recognize the effort that some restaurants have put into designing and maintaining these temporary extensions. To read more about the award and the panel set up to recommend the best performers click here.

Next week DCCA will be sending an online survey to its members to seek their views on streateries in the Dupont Circle neighborhood.

Lil' Goblins Parade on Saturday!

DCCA is delighted to be a sponsor of the 11th Annual Little Goblins Parade along with the Logan Circle Community Association and others.

The parade will assemble at Logan Circle at 12:45 p.m. and parade up and down P street, ending at Stead Park Field for games and entertainment at 2 p.m. To view the parade map click here.

Please be advised that Stead Park is under major renovation. Please enter the field through the alley between Stead Park and Foundry Church.
Proposed Amendments to ANC2B Bylaws
ANC 2B is providing notice about proposed amendments to the ANC’s bylaws for consideration at the ANC’s November 9th, 2022 meeting. The proposed changes may be found here.
Those wishing to comment on the changes may do so here. This will consolidate comments in a central location.
Two Government Agencies Want Your Feedback
WMATA is conducting a survey for improving bus service. Click here to let them know what you want out of a Better Bus network before November 11.

DC’s Office of Waste Diversion is developing plans for a Zero Waste DC Plan to reduce 80 percent of the waste going to the landfill. Among the ideas they are working on is curbside composting, and better recycling. They are gathering resident’s opinions through a survey and community meetings. Click here to take the survey. Autumn Leaf Collection
The Department of Public Works (DPW) will provide leaf collection service from November 7, 2022 through January 28, 2023 to residents who receive trash and recycling services.

We will change back to standard time on November 6th. This is known to be the most dangerous time of year for pedestrians and cyclists, when drivers are getting used to commuting in the dark. Wear bright clothing, use lights if you’re cycling, and drive carefully if you’re driving.
