UPDATE! Nightly Magnolia Street Bridge Closures

Crews will perform maintenance work on the Magnolia Street bridge over I-405. This work will require nightly closures of the bridge next week.
Magnolia is anticipated to be closed nightly between the northbound and southbound freeway ramps as early as 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18, to Friday, Oct. 22.

REMINDER! Southbound (SB) I-405 On-Ramp from Northbound (NB) Harbor Boulevard Closed for Approximately ONE MONTH

Crews closed the southbound (SB) I-405 on-ramp from northbound (NB) Harbor Boulevard to accommodate the freeway widening.
The ramp closed Monday, Oct. 11, and is anticipated to reopen in approximately one month.

Brookhurst Street Bridge Falsework Removal
|
Crews will continue removing the falsework from the Brookhurst Street bridge over I-405. This work will require NB I-405 closures between Ward Street and Slater Avenue.
NB I-405 will continue nightly 11 p.m. to
5 a.m.:
- TONIGHT, Wednesday, Oct. 13;

Thursday, Oct. 14; and again on Monday, Oct. 18.

Crews will continue installing the falsework for the Goldenwest Street bridge over I-405. This work requires NB I-405 closures between the Beach Boulevard and Westminster Boulevard.
NB I-405 will be closed 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.:
Monday, Oct. 18, and Tuesday, Oct. 19.

Crews closed the NB I-405 off-ramp to Euclid on Sept. 8, for approximately one month to accommodate the freeway widening.

REMINDER! Northbound (NB) I-405 Loop Off-Ramp to Bolsa Avenue Closed

Crews closed the NB I-405 loop off-ramp to Bolsa on June 18, to accommodate the freeway widening. The ramp is anticipated to reopen in late November.

REMINDER! Westbound (WB) SR-22 On-Ramp from Old Ranch Parkway Closed

Crews closed the Old Ranch Parkway on-ramp to the WB SR-22 on April 13, for approximately three more months to accommodate the freeway widening.
Activities include demolition, excavation, grading, drainage and electrical system installation, concrete pours and asphalt paving.
- Daytime work hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m.
- Nighttime work hours are 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

UPDATE! Sidewalk Closures on Seal Beach Boulevard for Signal Work

Crews closed the sidewalks at the intersection of Seal Beach Boulevard and Lampson Avenue for permanent traffic signal construction.
Activities include the removal of existing sidewalk ramps, installation of new sidewalk ramps, electrical and foundation work.
Permanent traffic signal construction and the sidewalk closure will continue through December.
Daytime work hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Seal Beach Boulevard and Lampson will be intermittently reduced to two lanes at the intersection for the duration of the work.

REMINDER! SB I-405 Off-Ramp to Bolsa Chica Road Closed

Crews closed the SB I-405 off-ramp to Bolsa Chica on Oct. 27, 2020. The ramp will be closed for approximately three more months to advance construction on the Bolsa Chica bridge.

REMINDER! Southbound (SB) I-405 Loop Off-Ramp to Westminster Boulevard Closed

The closure of the SB I-405 loop off-ramp to eastbound Westminster Boulevard has been extended for an additional two months to allow crews to complete bridge construction that was delayed due to nesting owls.
The new ramp is now set to open in late October.

REMINDER! NB and SB I-405 Lane Reductions for Center Median Work
|
Crews will continue to perform work in the center median on the I-405 at the Bolsa Avenue bridge. This work will require NB and SB I-405 HOV lane reductions between Bolsa Avenue and Goldenwest.
The lane reductions are set to continue
5 a.m. to 12 p.m., for approximately two more months.

This work may be loud. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.

REMINDER! Crews are working on the foundation of a wall along Almond Avenue between Dahlia Circle and
Jasmin Circle, adjacent to NB I-405. The foundation consists of approximately 250 cast-in-drilled-hole (CIDH) piles.
This activity includes augering large holes, and installing forms and steel cages and pouring concrete into the holes to form the piles.
Following these activities, crews will begin placing rebar, constructing forms and pouring concrete to
construct the wall.
Ongoing 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, as needed through November 2021.
Nighttime activities may also occur between 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activity may occur at night.

NEW! Crews will pour concrete for the new portion of the Fairview bridge over I-405. This work will require lane reductions on Fairview between South Coast Drive and McCormack Lane.
Fairview will be reduced to one lane in each direction 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, to 7 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23.
Additionally, the northbound I-405 off-ramp to Fairview will be closed 10 p.m. to 9 a.m., and there will be lane reductions on the freeway 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

REMINDER! Crews are installing piles for the Warner Avenue bridge over I-405, in the center median and adjacent to NB/SB I-405 at Warner bridge; and a nearby retaining wall along westbound Warner.
Ongoing 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and continuing on weekdays and Saturdays as needed for the next several weeks.
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activity may occur at night.

REMINDER! Crews are working on the foundation of the southbound (SB) I-405/SR-73 HOV connector bridge. The foundation consists of 8 cast-in-drilled hole (CIDH) and 35 steel pipe piles.
The CIDH activity includes installing large-diameter casings approximately 200 feet into the ground.
The steel pipe piles will be driven into the soil until reaching a hard layer of earth beneath the structure foundation.
Pile installation activities are ongoing and will continue 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and weekends, as needed, through Spring 2022.
Daytime and nighttime lane reductions on SB I-405, between
SR-73 and Bear Street are anticipated to support the work.
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.
