Republic Community Foundation Grant Opportunity

The Republic Community Foundation is seeking grant applications. Below is the description. CLICK HERE to apply (8th one down).

The Republic Community Foundation works to improve the quality of life for individuals in the Republic area through thoughtful grantmaking and community leadership. The Republic Community Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors, chosen for their knowledge of the area. Grant decisions are made by the grant committee. The unique role of a community foundation is to conduct a flexible community grantmaking program which addresses the most important needs of the community at any one time. The flexibility this requires is made possible by charitable donors who establish unrestricted or field-of-interest funds and place the decision-making in the hands of the community leaders serving on our Board of Directors as well as dollars raised by the Republic Community Foundation.

Grant proposals are accepted according to an announced time table, and grant recommendations are made as funds are available. 501(c)3 organizations or other IRS approved entities (government entities, school districts and churches) serving the Republic area are eligible to apply.

  • Applicants who serve the Republic area are encouraged to apply.
  • Applicants may apply for up to $5,000 in funding for this grant cycle.
  • Awards will be announced in late autumn
  • Contact Alexandria Holmes ([email protected]) with questions about this grant program.
  • Contact Kirsten Binder ([email protected]) or 417-864-6199 with questions about the application process or with technical questions.

Chromebooks for Elementary Students

Each student has been assigned a district Chromebook to use both at school and at home, if needed. As we approach the winter weather season, starting Tuesday, November 1, elementary students will begin taking these devices to and from school each day in the case of inclement weather.

While our district will still plan to utilize “snow days” in the event of winter storms, there is a limit to how many we are allowed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. In an effort to prevent our students and staff from having to make up missed days at the end of the school year, students taking devices home daily allows the district to be able to quickly implement an AMI Day (virtual learning), if needed. This will continue for elementary students through the month of March.

Elementary students should not have a need to utilize their school devices outside of school hours. Therefore, it's recommended they stay in backpacks at home when not needed for learning or when not charging. We ask that families send their students to school every day with their fully-charged Chromebook and charger.

If an AMI day needs to be implemented, directions from teachers will be shared with our families and students, which will ensure a smooth day of virtual learning.

**Teachers, please share this with your families!**

Emerging Leaders

We would like to extend a personal invitation to our Emerging Leaders program for the 2022-2023 school year. Emerging Leaders is an opportunity for employees who are interested in learning more and engaging in conversations about school leadership through administration, curriculum/learning specialist support or other leadership positions. Emerging Leaders is different from the RepMO Leaders cohort, as Emerging Leaders is not for graduate-level credit. Emerging Leaders is designed to engage future leaders and grow leadership capacity for future opportunities.

Emerging Leaders will meet four times throughout the year in November, December, February and April. The first meeting will now be held on Tuesday, November 1 from 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. in the Board of Education Training Room at Central Office.

If you are interested in participating in the Emerging Leaders program and would like additional information shared please fill out this interest form. Please contact Dr. Tyler Overstreet if you have further questions.

Telehealth Appointments for Staff

The Republic School District is excited to continue our partnership with Jordan Valley Community Health Center to offer school-based health clinic visits to all staff.

Our Jordan Valley Community Health Worker, Leslie Blanco, is available to coordinate a virtual visit with a Jordan Valley doctor or nurse practitioner for any employee that is not well and needs to be assessed for the following possible illnesses: strep throat, ear infection, sinus infection, rash, pink eye, stomach flu, bug bites, lice and congestion. The employee will be able to return to work after the medical provider evaluation OR they will be given a diagnosis and guidance on leaving work. If necessary, the practitioner will call in a prescription to the patient's pharmacy to be paid for and picked up by the employee.

The employee is responsible for the copay and/or costs not covered by insurance.

Employees can request an appointment by emailing [email protected]. You will find the required form to be completed once annually prior to your appointment HERE.

We are thankful for this opportunity to partner with Jordan Valley Community Health Center!
