Please read Chapters 3 & 4 in Diana Butler Bass' Freeing Jesus. We will dive into Salvation. What does it mean that Jesus is our Savior? What is the historical journey of the word "salvation"? What are our own experiences of what it means to be saved?

CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates for the Highland Lakes Area, special event, Boots & BBQ, is being held on Saturday, February 4th, 6pm, at Horseshoe Bay Resort.

This event is the largest fundraising source for CASA for the Highland Lakes Area in 2023. Monies raised provide funds to give a voice to the most vulnerable children in our community. CASA is the only organization that can provide children with what they need at the most critical time in their lives – a volunteer who will fight for and help assure their safe passage through childhood into adulthood.

Highland Lakes’ CASA volunteers are making a difference in children’s lives every day. There are many Trinity parishioners who have participated in CASA training and become Advocates over the years. Read more about the CASA program and training FAQ's - CASA for the Highland Lakes Area (highlandlakescasa.com) and check out how to help - Volunteer - Become a CASA - CASA for the Highland Lakes Area (highlandlakescasa.com).

As a sponsor of Boots & BBQ, you become a powerful voice in the life of an abused or neglected child who needs a CASA advocate by their side. Corporate, foundation, and individual funding are used to serve and protect children in crisis. Follow this link to get detailed information and purchase tickets: Boots and BBQ - CASA for the Highland Lakes Area (highlandlakescasa.com).

The Beatitudes

Our Sunday Gospel reading was the Beatitudes Jesus taught us, Matthew 5:1-12. Here are a few links to various translations to open up your prayer & understanding of this foundational teaching. LINK,

Worship Ministries Training & Refresher

Sunday, February 5, 9:15-10:15am

Sunday worship is vital & vibrant thanks to so many, especially all those who serve as Acolytes, Chalice Bearers, Lectors, and Ushers. If you serve in these roles, please join us for a brief training & refresher.  Please bring your accumulated wisdom to share & questions to ask.

We welcome anyone who is interested in exploring one or more of these rewarding ministries to join us on February 5! Those who want to explore any of these ministries can do just that: explore, with no pressure to commit.

Worship Ministries:

Acolyte - Supports worship by making the final preparations for worship (such as lighting candles), by carrying the cross, and by bearing the Gospel Book.

Chalice Bearer - Primarily a ministry of hospitality. Chalice Bearers share the consecrated wine at Holy Communion. They also bear the Gospel Book at the 10:30 service.

Lector - Communicating the Word of the Lord by reading the Sunday Scripture Readings. Readers also lead us in the Prayers of the People.

Ushers - Also a ministry of hospitality. Ushers welcome people to worship by handing out bulletins & opening doors. They also help with the smooth flow of people up to Holy Communion.
