ArtsFest 2021 starts this Friday!

ArtsFest 2021 starts Friday, October 15 and runs through Sunday, October 17 with 36 venues presenting the work of more than 150 artists (visual artists, performers, artisans). A few venues weren't confirmed in time to make the printed brochure, so read about them below.

Friday, Oct. 15 from 9 am to 2 pm:

Artisan Market Preview at the Farmer's Market

On Friday, Oct. 15 from 9 am to 2 pm preview the ArtsFest Artisan Market (taking place on Saturday, Oct. 16) during the Down to Earth Farmer's Market at Thomas Paine Cottage (20 Sicard Avenue). Vendors include The Mitten Maven (warm mittens in wool, cashmere and alpaca), Charnise's Candles (scented candles, incense, room sprays, soaps), and Mia's Funky Jewels (handmade jewelry and wall hangings). In addition view work by fine artists Selena Lozano and Lorraine Lunepiana. From 12 to 2 pm enjoy live Music by Gravikord Duo -- Bob Grawi on the Gravikord and Pip Klein on the classical silver flute and percussion, playing their own blend of "New Folk/Chamber/Jazz."



The full ArtsFest Artisan Market with 26 vendors will take place from 11 am to 4 pm on Saturday, Oct. 16 on the grounds of the Thomas Paine Cottage.

Friday, Oct. 15 at 6 pm :

Cabaret Vertatis Performance and Reception

Free music on the inaugural night of the New Rochelle ArtsFest, featuring impeccable musical artists, Claudia Knafo at the piano and Alexander Yagupsky on the bandoleon, along with oboist, Keve Wilson and violinist, Rachel Handman playing the music of Janacek, Kurt Weill, Jacques Brel, Claude Debussy, Carlos Gardel, as well as originals by the members of IMPetus. Afterward enjoy a reception at 8 pm with the musicians and ArtsFest organizers and performers. In the Ossie Davis Theater at the New Rochelle Public Library.

Friday, Oct. 15 at 7 pm:

German Film Festival at The Picture House

Take a cinematic trip to Germany with a German Film Festival at The Picture House (175 Wolf's Lane, Pelham) during ArtsFest, featuring some of the most exciting films to come out of Germany in the past two years. 


The weekend kicks off with a complimentary German beer and wine tasting taking place outside the theater at 7 pm on Friday, Oct. 15 followed at 8 pm by the opening night film, When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit, the moving story of a Jewish family’s escape from 1930s Berlin. Stay following the film for a pre-recorded Q&A with filmmaker Caroline Link.

The German film Festival continues Saturday, Oct. 16 and Sunday, Oct. 17 with screenings of:

Curveball (dir. Johannes Naber),

Free Country (dir. Christian Alvart),

Rocca Changes the World (dir. Katja Benrath), and Undine (dir. Christian Petzold). Tickets Cost $12 for Adults, $10 for Seniors and Students. For the complete schedule click HERE

Saturday and Sunday at 11 am:

Free Yoga Class at NewRo Parc

Enjoy a free yoga class each day at 11 am at NewRo Parc (451 Main Street, between North Avenue and LeCount) led by Wendy Vigroux, a registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance and founder of Westchester Yoga Arts, a virtual studio with 15 teachers offering classes seven days a week. Wendy teaches all levels of students and fully integrates the spirituality of yoga into the asana practice, knowing that the mind, heart and body are all connected. Bring your own mat.

Pop Up Performance by PAVE Students

This pop-up theater performance by New Rochelle High School’s PAVE 4 students will feature "Stories From The Starbuck’s Patio." Come hear students share a collection of monologues and performance pieces. Developed and arranged by students, staged outside to demonstrate that you don’t need a theatre to create great art. Help support our community and our future artists by being part of a unique audience experience. You might never think of your Chai Latte the same way again! Arch for Kids


Children in Pre-K through grade 5

are invited to join the ArchFor Kids team and turn “found” materials into amazing structures! Grounded in architecture, design, engineering

and urban planning,

Arch for Kids will bring all kinds of materials, guidance and enthusiasm

to HCL for an afternoon charged with creative energy. Free. First-come,

Songcatchers will perform a free concert outside in Ruby Dee Park

on the steps of the

New Rochelle Public Library.

The Concert Choir is a 50 member intergenerational chorus

consisting of children and adults.

Songcatchers, Inc. provides

affordable access to high quality

music education, training, and enrichment for children and families.

Sunday, Oct. 17 from 11 am to 4 pm: ArtsWestchester ArtsMobile

The ArtsMobile will be at NewRo Parc (45 Main Street, between North Avenue and LeCount Place) on Sunday, not Saturday, from 11 am to 4 pm, offering interactive art activities for all ages. Stop by the ArtsMobile between 11:00am and 4:00pm to participate in a visual arts workshop and meet teaching artist Miguel Cossio!
