September is Library Card Sign-up Month
There is nothing more empowering than a library card. Through access to technology, media resources and educational programs, libraries provide people of all ages the opportunity to pursue their dreams and passions.
Honorary chair, Marley Dias, author, executive producer, and founder of #1000BlackGirlBooks, believes “a library card provides opportunity for discovery and access to a rich and diverse world. It empowers you to make change and experience new stories."
Visit IVPL online or in-person to get a library card. Do you have friends who don't have library cards? Invite them to sign up during September.
Featured Online Resource
Each month, we highlight one of the many free online resources that IVPL provides for you, our patrons, as a part of your membership.
If you want to drive a car, motorcycle, or commercial vehicle in the Keystone State, you’ll need a license, however it doesn’t have to be as complex as the constitution to do just that. Following our step-by-step instructions and reviewing our DOT practice tests will allow you to succeed right off the bat, with no need to come back another day to retake your learner’s permit or driver’s license exam.
As your children return to school this month, I ask you to consider the role libraries - and IVPL in particular - have played in your lives. We love providing this community with resources and depend on your support to keep doing just that both now and in the future.
Your donations help support our staff, programs, facilities, resources, and services IVPL provides for you. Every gift made directly supports the library's day-to-day operations of IVPL; no matter the amount.
Please don't ever hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. I am happy to assist in any way that I can.
Did you know you can borrow a bike from IVPL for up to 48 hours? It's true! We are happy to partner withTMA Bike Share.
Stop in for a book and a bike - all you need is a picture ID and bike helmet.

Anti/Hero Summary:
Piper Pájaro and Sloane MacBrute are two 13-year-old girls with very different lives but very similar secrets. Popular, outgoing Piper is strong-like, ripping-the-doors-off-cars strong. She longs to be a superhero, even if she tends to leave massive messes in her wake. Sloane, on the other hand, is snarky and super-smart. Like, evil-genius smart. To help her family, she has to put those smarts to use for her villainous grandfather. When a mission to steal an experimental technological device brings the two girls face to face with each other, the device sparks-and the two girls switch bodies! Now they must live in each other's shoes as they figure out a way to switch back. Anti/Hero is a story that explores what makes a hero, how one can find friendship where it's unexpected, and what it means to walk in another person's shoes...literally!
