Dear Parents and Caregivers,

November is National American Indian Heritage Month! In this month of gratitude, we join in paying tribute to the rich ancestry and traditions of Native Americans.

Many of our children suffered a loss during the pandemic. Jaymie Byron, MFT, Community Outreach Director, KARA, presents Grief and Loss in Children and Teens: What It Looks Like and How to Help (November 30, Online).

How can we help our kids find balance in the age of indulgence? We welcome Anna Lembke, MD, Stanford psychiatrist, in discussion of her new book, Dopamine Nation: Finding Balance in the Age of Indulgence (December 1, Online).

NEW! The oldest cultures in the world mastered the art of raising happy, well-adjusted children. What can we learn from them? Bestselling authors Michaeleen Doucleff and Ned Johnson join us for Hunt, Gather, Parent (December 8, Online).

On December 10, Eran Magen, PhD, founder of Parenting for Humans, returns for a Parent Forum (English), How to Be Your Child's Favorite Conversation Partner (Online). The Parent Forums are an initiative of the Sequoia Healthcare District.

Holiday traditions (candles, trees, cooking) can increase the risk of home fire. Sequoia Healthcare District hosts Fire Marshal Gareth Harris for a Town Hall, Fire Safety for Your Home: A Disaster Prep Town Hall Meeting (December 14, Online).

We just passed 30,000 views on our Video Library! This popular and trusted resource features more than 125 recordings of The Parent Education Series events.

New video recordings include Raising Kids Who Are Kind and Brave and MYTHBUSTERS: The Truth About the California Public Higher Education System.
