What We've Been Up To

Elena Hood, ITRC Director, visited the AISES Conference in Palm Springs recently. She met with students and family members (top right) and partnered with colleagues from the Division of Graduate and Post Doc Affairs (bottom right).

We also visited Valley Center High School on Sept. 28th (middle left), and co-presented about the ITRC with AIR (American Indian Recruitment) (top left).

The ITRC hosted an Open House on Friday, September 23rd, where ITRC staff conversed with community members, new undergraduate students, current undergraduate students, as well as graduate students. We enjoyed getting to know each other and also sporting our new ITRC swag (bottom left)!

Annual Native American Welcome Dinner

Last Friday the Intertribal Resource Center held its annual Native American Welcome Dinner for new and returning students, staff, and faculty. We enjoyed good food and met some new friends. Students had an opportunity to get to know other Native American students, faculty, and staff while playing a Bingo scavenger hunt game. The night ended with a raffle where attendees won some UCSD and ITRC swag and prizes from Native American-owned businesses such as 8th Generation and Raven Reads. The ITRC hosts a dinner at the start of each year to welcome and celebrate our Native American students.
