Thank You for Your Generosity!

We are at 79% of Our GOAL!

First, thank you to everyone who has made a commitment to our High Holy Days' Appeal!

For those of you who have not yet made a commitment, we appreciate your consideration as we work towards reaching our goal of $45,000 -- and, with your help, we know we can do it!

Remember, we would love to see 100% of our community support us ... no gift is too small as every gift helps us get closer to the finish line!

Please see our President's Yom Kippur message below for more information about why your gift is so needed and thank you always for your support of our spiritual community!

After using the "The Mussar Torah Commentary" this past year to excellent reviews, this year, we will be using "The Social Justice Commentary" as the lens through which we discuss each week's Torah portion.

Please Note: It is NOT necessary for you to purchase this book as we share the text on screen each week. However, if you would like to own your own copy, please click HERE to purchase your copy directly from the CCAR Press. (Please note that the book is also available digitally on Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.)

Saturday Morning Worship Service led by Rabbi Cookie Lea Olshein

*ONLINE ONLY*

Meeting ID: 958 5868 0146 | Passcode: Torah

During our informal (and interactive) Shabbat Morning worship, we will dig deeper into the meaning of our traditional prayers and liturgical music, while including modern, interpretative versions that will challenge our understanding of our tradition, as well as a short Torah reading. Each week, we will include a prayer for healing and recitation of the Mourner's Kaddish in case you would like to share your personal prayers for those we love who are struggling and those we have lost.

Support Our Religious School Madrichim!

Our Madrichim (teenage helpers in our Religious School classrooms on Sundays) volunteer their precious weekend time on Sunday mornings in service to our children and Temple community. They play a vital role in the education of our children. Let's show them our thanks by feeding them when they're here!

EX: Oreos, Chips, Gummy Snacks, Granola Bars, Mints, Gum, Jolly Ranchers, Sun Chips, Cookies, Grapes, Mini Cereal boxes/cups.

Guidelines: ALL food must be NUT FREE and Kosher-Style (no mixing of dairy and meat or using any animal products from pigs, shellfish, etc.).

We have 19 madrichim this school year.

i-Help - Volunteers needed!

Volunteer to Feed the Hungry in 2022!

I-HELP is an acronym for Interfaith Housing Emergency Lodging Program. It is a program of Tempe Community Action Agency that partners a number of faith communities, clubs, and organizations to combat homelessness.

As we continue to work within the program, our assignments have changed as has the location. We need your help to fill our new days and times at the new locations

We hope that this will provide an opportunity for those who have not previously been able to represent Temple Emanuel by volunteering with I-Help to do so in the future.

Going forward, we are now assigned the 1st Wednesday of each month. The new location will be Tempe Church of Christ, located on Mill Ave. (Please note: this location does not have a kitchen where the meals can be prepared, all food must come prepared.)

Our second day of the month will be every 3rd Thursday. This new location will take place at King of Glory Church on Southern off the 101. (This location does have a fully stocked kitchen for cooking.)

With these changes, we are now looking for new volunteers beginning in July through the end of the year!

Or if you are interested in signing up, contact our Temple Emanuel i-Help coordinator, Jim Flegenheimer either by phone at (480) 390-1514 or via email at lpflegy@cox.net .
