It is a time to grieve dreams that have slipped away, mourn loved ones who have passed on, and to embrace the hope that is ours through Jesus Christ. This event is hosted by Aledo UMC and our Stephen Ministry. All are welcome.

CHILI COOK OFF AND HANGING OF THE GREENS
Sunday, November 28th, 5:30pm
Our annual Deck the Halls Chili Cook-off begins at 5:30pm, followed by the Hanging of the Greens worship service at 6:30pm. Children have a special role during the service of hanging the Chrismons on the tree! Sign up at the Connection Center to bring chili, bread or a dessert.
**Note** To be judged and eligiable for a prize, chili must be at the church between 4:00 and 5:00pm.

POINSETTIA SALES
Let’s fill the sanctuary with beautiful flowers for Advent! Poinsettias may be ordered at the Connection Center for $20 each through November 28th. Those who purchase plants may take them home after the Christmas Eve services.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA
Saturday, December 4th, 9:00-10:30am
Come enjoy breakfast, make some crafts and, of course, visit with Santa!

ADVOCATS ANGEL PROJECT
This year we will once again be collecting donations of wrapping paper, tape and bows for the AdvoCats Angel Project. Please place items in the marked bin in the Narthex. Donations will be collected until Sunday, December 5th.

BOB BULL’S COAT DRIVE
Through February 1st we will be collecting gently-used coats to be distributed by Beautiful Feet in Fort Worth. All sizes are needed, children through adult! Please make sure coats are clean and in “working order”.

MEN'S DEVOTIONAL BREAKFAST
Mondays, 7:30am, Chapel
Pastor Joel will be sharing a short devotional with this group. Burritos and coffee will be served. This is an opportunity to meet new people and decompress. The goal is for those not retired, to get back on the road by 8:15, at the latest. A donation of $5 is asked to cover the cost.

Java & Jesus is a gathering for “busy moms” ~ and grammas! ~ who are interested in fellowship and an encouraging Word. Join-in as we begin a video series “I Give Up” by Laura Story. No outside reading required. Nursery childcare is provided! Please contact: trudysmith@aledoumc.org if you have questions, or if you plan to attend with kiddos, so we have plenty of nursery workers.

SCHOOL PRAYER MINISTRY
The new school year is here! Let's support our local school with prayer. Sign up to pray for a school each week for one month, either in person or by proxy. To pray for the month of December, stop by the Connection Center to sign up for your school.

We have several church members who are no longer able to drive to church. Would you be willing to help a senior church member get to and from worship on Sunday morning? Please sign up at the Connection Center or contact Trudy Smith for more information.
